My boyfriend, my dad and I were in town for my cousins wedding and brought our two dogs with us. It was perfect!! It was a little warm but she has plenty of fans around the unit that really cool the place down. Pullout couch was very comfortable and our dogs loved chilling on the balcony! Such a great find in a cute town. The beach is only blocks away and there are tons of great restaurants in walking distance. If we are ever visiting the area we will definitely book again at the Castro House!!

6 of us stayed in this lovely beach spot for 2 nights and it was absolutely perfect. Check-in and out instructions were easy to understand, the property was beautiful and clean (and super cozy). Most importantly, the location CANNOT be beat. 1 block from the main drag of Carpinteria and 5 min walk from the beach. Would def recommend this place to anyone!

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews on here considering how lovely of a stay it was! The host was very prompt and responsive and the location was amazing. The Airbnb is only a short 10 min walk away from the beach, which is a huge plus. The only downside to the place is that the sofa beds aren’t too comfy, so if you’re planning on having more than two people sleep over I would bring an air mattress. But besides that the space is very cute and is well stocked with all the amenities you might need! Would stay again.

This historic home has a ton of character and worked well for my family’s several day stay. The kitchen had everything we needed & everything was clean. Very close to the freeway which was a plus since we were spending most of our time in Santa Barbara. I do recommend bringing extra toilet paper - there was only one roll so we did have to make a trip out for that.

The host was such a treat ? so fun and had some great recommendations in the area. Really beautiful spot in a great old house with a very convenient location in a beautiful area.

We arrived just after 3p which is check in time. We were greeted by a bustling little business at the base of the stairs to enter the property. The business owner was cordial and always said hello. Upon entering the property we felt excited to begin our stay. Brought up the bags, which was really a downfall with the stairs (we overpacked), and headed straight to the local grocery store. Wish we would?ve asked Jill who we had already made contact with about the closest store, (later found out Smart and Final was literally a 30-second walk away), but we trekked to Albertsons for a week?s worth of snacks and food. Although we planned on eating out at all the great restaurant spots, we also were excited to just spend time with each other (family time). Our oldest daughter attends UCSB so we were glad to be near her and visit for the week. We decided to head to the beach each day and all the gear you could ask for was available in the storage area downstairs. Boogey boards, wetsuits, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, towels, and a wagon to pull it with is all there. The beach was about a 10 minute walk. We drove it once or twice and with finding a place to park it ended up just about the same amount of time so we walked the remaining days. We made a morning walk to the beach also, grabbing a coffee and most importantly some smiles from our youngest two who joined my wife and I during our walks. Afterwards we ate breakfast at one of restaurants, or in, and explored the rest of the area. Although our trip was planned, we kind of went off our plan several days which made it so great and unplanned to some degree. Just went with the flow of things... The house was comfortable and had lots of charm. There was plenty of technology available, (cable, WiFi, BBQ, refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, etc) and we spent some time relaxing ?in? as well. Laundry is available a short walk away at the laundromat in town which was busy. All in all we enjoyed our trip and didn?t want to leave. Jill was there if we had questions or concerns. We even left some clothes and she promptly sent them to us via mail. We will be back as we enjoyed the location, house, and entire town of Carp. Check out was at 10a and fairly reasonable time. Gave us time for one last walk and time to carry our luggage back down to the car before one last breakfast and the drive back home. We will make this a yearly getaway spot for sure.

the old house was quaint with lots of character. The location was perfect, walking distance to everything in town. I hate to say but the sleeping was not good. the beds were extremely worn out and uncomfortable. the linens were worn and smelled. the apartment slept 6 but for some reason they charge for any person per night over 4 persons.. As with old houses there were quirks as with the hot water heater taking up to ten minutes to heat up. we were disappointed with the overall upkeep of the inside and out. we feel that we paid for a 4 star and got a 2 1/2. Any of the things wrong would be an easy fix. new mattress and linens. fresh paint would do wonders. I think the owner should keep up with the cleaning crew to make sure everything is nicer.. the deck was dirty and worn out which is the first thing you see..

Great location. we'did not head to the beach but enjoyed walking downtown while in Carpinteria which seems so sweet.
