Great location just south of Flagler College. Comfortable and bright with a "shared" balcony. The amenities within the apartment are quiet, but there is alot of noise from other washing machines and dryers, as well as pipes within the building. Thin walls, could hear others talking at times, as well as small dogs barking. Perfect for our needs and very comfortable otherwise.

This place was great! My initial concern was the restaurant located downstairs effecting our privacy but that was not the case. There is a private entrance from the back of the house that takes you to the room. There is some noise from the restaurant but nothing a noise machine can't block out.
The location could not have been better for us. It takes roughly 10 minutes to walk to downtown where all of the action is. There is also a brewery that it less than a 5 minute walk away off of Bridge St. Parking spot was provided and we pretty much never moved our car until we had to go home.

We loved this light airy space...it had what we needed to spend a cozy weekend experiencing Halloween St. Augustine style and we will definitely be back! There is a restaurant downstairs so if you have to have a really quiet place this is not the rental for you. That noise didn't bother us a bit though...it wasn't that loud. Kitchen noise...not guest noise, mind you. So it wasn't that bad. I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony after dark and watching the ghost tours walk through. Thanks for having us!

We loved staying in the historic neighborhood of Lincolnville and had a great weekend in St. Augustine attending a concert, dining out and shopping. Ice Plant, Collage, Blue Hen and Rose Dog Brewing were all highlights. However, on Saturday night, from 3:00-4:45 a.m. there was an unbelievable amount of noise. Since we were friendly with the top floor guests we knew it wasn't them as we spoke to them the following morning. This only leaves the possibility of downstairs in the restaurant. It was as if large furniture was being moved around; perhaps a cleaning crew? It was impossible to sleep. I sent a message to the manager after our stay just to alert them to the issue (I did not want any refund or any other arrangement; just wanted to bring it to her attention) and I never received a response. The place itself was nice, the furniture is pretty dated and the place is screaming for some artwork or personality on the walls, but it was comfortable overall.

    Manager's Response:
Neely, we're glad you enjoyed this apartment in this historic neighborhood overall. While noise from neighbors is out of our control, we are very sorry this negatively impacted your stay. The homeowner was not aware of the situation and would have been happy to address these concerns. They prioritize the guest experience, and here at Evolve, we have a team dedicated to helping travelers 7 days a week. Thank you for your feedback. Best, the Evolve Team

This well thought out one bedroom apartment is in a great location for people watching. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony over the restaurant watching folks come and go on Bridge Street. We would give this a 5-star rating except for some small details. But as they say it's the little things that count. The rooms are a little Stark, and could use some colorful art to balance out the white and Gray's that predominant. On first entering the apartment we noticed an odor that seem to be comprised of equal parts of paint in possibly cat urine. Opening the windows in the door to the porch solve that problem, but we noticed there were no screens on the windows. While there were no insects to Annoy Us, it would seem logical to put screens up. A box of facial tissue would have been handy, we solved the problem with one from our car. The owners could save a few pennies by adding the plastic refillable Keurig cups so that guests could use their own coffee rather than the prepackaged coffee that was available. The coffee provided was good, but we ran out. My wife and I are serious coffee drinkers. While that's not part of the apartment rental, the restaurant below the Preserved, is very very good. We recommend it. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. The unit was scrupulously clean, the bed was very comfortable and while we didn't do any food preparation the kitchen is complete. We are looking forward to returning and staying longer next time. St. Augustine is a wonderful place to visit and this apartment is a great place to stay.

    Historic Home in Historic Neighborhood

    Reviewed by: Shaun M. on

    Comment:

This apartment is well maintained and has a great porch from which to relax and check out the neighborhood. It's located at the edge of Historic Lincolnville and is within easy walking distance of downtown St. Augustine and other attractions such as the St. Augustine Distillery (take the tour!). Recommend making reservations downstairs at Preserved at least one night, and order whatever they have for the special. Reserved parking makes just leaving your car for the weekend a breeze. To address the few negative comments, the restaurant can be noisy, mostly when they are moving chairs around on the restaurant's wrap around porch, primarily around open and closing. But unless you are keeping some odd hours it is not especially bothersome. The cleaning fee IS a bit steep, considering the instructions pretty much require doing much of it yourself upon checkout (check in and check out is extremely easy). Two minor things to note: no ice cube maker, so bring your own, and watch your step getting out of the shower; it's a bit of a drop.

Great place! It's just as pictured, all very updated and has all essentials to cook with in the kitchen. It's on the 2nd floor above a restaurant, however only ever heard the restaurant moving chairs around once. No other noise besides that. Wifi, Central air, easy parking and less than a half mile to the main area! I would stay here again if I come back to vacation.

The wife and I stayed here for our 12 yr anniversary and it felt like we had the whole house to ourselves. Property was very clean inside and out. The apartment was very spacious very nicely decorated. (Not too much clutter). The porch was a nice spot to hang out and relax after a long day walking around or going to the beach. This unit is in a great location so you can walk downtown without too much of a hike (maybe 5 to 10 min) also a short drive over the bridge to the many beaches (15 to 20 min). Property manager is great as well anytime we had a question or concern she answered back very quickly. We would definitely stay here on our next trip back.

Great little apartment within walking distance to a lot of the local museums and attractions. Situated in the top of a historic house that had been completely renovated. Had dinner at the restaurant on the main level which was superb! Was a little concerned that we might get a lot of noise from the restaurant below but it was not the case. Would recommend this rental if you are wanting to stay in St. Augustine.

We rented this place to be close to our wedding venue and allow my now wife and the bridesmaids a a place to get ready on the big day. It worked out perfect and also served as our wedding night accommodations so we didn't have to drive all the way back to Jacksonville. I would highly recommend it for a close location to down town St Augustine if you didn't want to deal with staying in a hotel as it was much more intimate than that.

Highly Recommend this suite. Host communicated well with no problems. Everything needed for eating in but we recommend the restaurant located below. The Preserve Restaurant has an innovative delicious menu. Bed was super comfortable with new linens. Quiet area with parking included. Beautiful antique furniture to add to a very nice ambiance. We were happy travelers.

This is a very modern and spacious place to stay. For me, I wish there were some plants or more color to make it more homey. The kitchen is definitely a great place to make gourmet meals. Also, the restaurant downstairs is one of the top places to eat in town. We could not hear any noise from the restaurant, so their are no worries about that. The bed is excellent and the bathroom is roomy. I recommend this place a a great choice for one's vacation. I stayed there for three nights.

There are so many awesome things to say about this place! The unit is in the home that was built for Thomas Jefferson's great grand daughter, restored to perfection and in the historic district of Lincolnville, home to the Freedom Trail. The neighborhood is abound with beautifully renovated homes, mature trees, and so quiet and peaceful! The unit displayed period specific antiques, luxury linens, full kitchen, washer/ dryer, parking and is pet friendly! There are 3 units in this structure and on the ground floor is this amazing restaurant The Preserve that was so outstanding we went three times!! It's a lovely 10 min walk to downtown, the distillery (also the amazing Ice House ratauarant) and the winery. Highly recommend- we will definitely be back!
