It looks better in the photos

    Reviewed by: Darcy P. on

It's an older building with older issues and very close to the street and noisy. When I was there, the AC wasn't working correctly and the place never cooled. There was a leak from the bathtub, so we walked in to a puddle in bathroom. No ceiling fans to help distribute the warm air. The owner did supply standing fans, but they were too loud to run at night. The little outdoor patio was very nice for morning coffee.

    Somewhat of a disappointment

    Reviewed by: LouAnne C. on

For the price paid for the small apt I was realistic about my expectations. It was clean, the ac worked well but was so loud, very much like an industrial fan. When I turned up the temperature so the unit would not run so long I realized the running of the ac unit was so much better than the road noise. Really quite a busy road all hours of the day and night and the windows were very thin. The mattress was as hard as a rock and I was tossing and turning all night to alleviate pressure points. We were a family of three and we all agreed on the above observations. I have never stayed overnight and been asked to remove all the linen on the bed. Is that not part of the cleaning fee???? We had a very early departure and it was really something I would have preferred not to have had to do.

    Manager's Response:
LouAnne, thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed this apartment overall. We have shared your comments on areas of improvement with the homeowner so the necessary adjustments may be made for future guests. While mattress preferences often vary greatly by person, we do apologize for any inconvenience this caused during your stay. The check-out instructions regarding removing linen are standard for vacation rentals, but we are sorry if that caught you off guard. We encourage guests to reach out while in residence as the local contact would have been happy to help make things right. Thank you for letting us know. Best, The Evolve Team

Good location for getting to the beach and downtown.

The apartment was located in a good location for getting downtown and to the beach but is on a busy road so a lot of traffic noises. The apartment was spacious and clean. We weren't given enough bath towels for 3 people, only 2 towels and no spares for hand towels and no wash clothes. Overall it served our purpose, which was a quick drive to the beach and downtown!

We really enjoyed our stay. We were here for a sailing event and it was so nice to come back to the apartment to relax, have a kitchen and space for everyone to hang out privately or together in the living room.

    Clean, convenient and functional but...

    Reviewed by: Andres L. on

As the title states this property meets your basic needs. If you are a road warrior or don't really care about accommodations because you are gone doing things this would be the right place for you. However, there were a few details that were misleading when I booked and when I arrived really let me down. First, there was no ocean view. Second, the noise from the traffic from a busy street was significant unless you live in a big city off a main street. Third, there was no dishwasher as listed in profile or on the checkout instructions. Fourth, there were a few small things that should have been taken care off before we checked in such as a burnt out light bulb in the kitchen, no salt and pepper in the kitchen (who travels with salt and pepper or wants to buy a shaker of either for only a few days?!), no cutting board in the kitchen, the fridge had leftover items in it and the towels left a bunch of little cotton dingle berries all over your body when you dried off. The caretaker/contact person was great. Once we got in contact with him, he was helpful and took care of any issues or little problems we had. He definitely helped ease the small disappointments with his personality, service and care of us once we arrived. Overall, I would recommend this place as it met the basic needs and was clean and convenient for what we had planned (work and leisure). It got the job done and not much more than that. Worth it if you have the right expectations but not if you want more. For the price, it was definitely a great value. If it had the extras as advertised and located in a more private area, could have gotten a higher rating.

This apartment is clean and serviceable. No frills. Location was handy for us to visit colleges in St Pete and Sarasota, and there 's a grocery store less than a mile away. Otherwise the area is residential. There 's a nice park with a little beach just down the road, delightful for viewing sunset. Beds are comfortable. The building faces and is close to a busy road; streetlights and traffic noise are intrusive in the front bedroom. The little screen porch is also less charming because of the traffic just outside. Parking is safe and right next to the building.
