Absolutely a beautiful place. Everything you need....location quite convenient too...not far from anything. James will direct you to where you want to go, and provide great insight to some fine eateries too....that is, if you need to leave. Highly recommend this place.

Beautifully decorated inside and out. The cabin is well stocked with all the basics. The location is perfect for a getway but close enough to get to many of Maine's major attractions. My daughter loved the two cats on the property and visited with them every morning. We greatly enjoyed the screened in porch which was a surprise. Thank you for helping to make our first trip to Maine truly special.

The property was everything we hoped it would be for a cabin in the winter in the woods. The pictures in the listing didn't do it justice. It's well maintained and clean with everything you'd need to have a long weekend. The owner is very friendly and offered assistance. He was available if needed next door. He had it set up well enough that we didn't need anything.

The cabin is absolutely adorable! Perfectly cozy with easy access to downtown Belfast and some good hiking trails. Our host was beyond lovely and helpful- we arrived late our first night but he made sure the cabin had heat/lights on. When it snowed our last night and when we woke, the porch had been shoveled and salted! Too kind. We cannot wait to come back- I highly recommend.

Looking for a getaway with the family and found it. It was everything I expected and more. We enjoyed riding up and down Route 1 and exploring. We loved the cabin so much we cooked all our meals there and played games by the woodstove and then sat on the couch and watched some tv. I read the other reviews prior to booking and let me address some things. 1. Bed was broken, NO, it was brand new and super comfortable, I have a sleep number at home and this bed was awesome. 2. Cat on property. Who cares, find a place that doesn't have animals someplace, bet you cant. We brought our dog and cat were fine with it. Person needs to get over it. 3. Owner's house was close. It was, but JD was really friendly and helpful. We did not see him at all and felt we were all alone in the woods by ourselves. We will definitely book again. Thank you JD

First impression was, Wow! Simple and Efficient. The owner/host, J.D. arrived (home, next door) minutes after we arrived and gave us the tour. JD is a Certified Maine Outfitter in the "Midcoast" and a Chef. Perhaps next time I'll use both of those services. The Cabin is "Stuffed" with lots of various Domestic and Sea Ducks, and fur pelts cling to the walls, a Turkey adorns the front bedroom window as "Buck" watches over you as you sleep. (the master bed could use a new mattress though)) There is a Monster Bass in the bathroom, and yet the cabin has good tasting water. Visit Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast for the freshest lobster. On the way is, Friars Brewhouse in Bucksport for a good Beer as well as at the Airline Pub in Ellsworth on the way to BaHaaBa! I could just drive around Maine for years. Lobsta, Lobsta, Lobsta... Thanks J.D. and Beth, for your hospitality, we really enjoyed our stay!! Fred & Kathy M. 9/9-14/18

    Comment:

This is a comfortable, authentic cabin tucked away in the woods. It provides great peace and quiet, and sits conveniently between Midcoast coastal towns such as Camden and Rockland (1 hour drive) to the south, and Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor to the east (1.5 hr drive). The host JD is very kind and responsive. We had no cellular reception with our carrier (AT&T) at the cabin, but Wi-Fi is available. If your party includes animal lovers, beware of the many stuffed animals that adorn the cabin. Good restaurants are found in Belfast, a 20-minute drive, including one (Meanwhile in Belfast) that serves authentic Neapolitan pizza! Close by, Nautilus, on the harbor, serves excellent seafood (steamed lobster, lobster Mac & cheese, oysters, mussels). A grocery store (Tozier?s) and laundromat are located in Searsport proper, less than 10 minutes away.

They were never a bother though and we always felt like we had our privacy. our only complaint?and it?s somewhat important on a vacation?was the quality of sleep. the mattresses on both the upstairs main bedroom and downstairs sleeper sofa were incredibly uncomfortable and in need of replacement... something easily fixed to make the cabin a 5-star booking.

We enjoyed our weekend stay at this cabin in Searsport. When we arrived, the owner gave us a detailed tour of the cabin. The cabin itself was spacious, clean and exactly as pictured in the listing. The listing does not show that the cabin is adjacent to the owner's property (although we knew this was the case from other reviews), but this was not a problem for us. The cabin felt very private and there was a nice view of the woods. We enjoyed the cats roaming the property. During our stay, we hiked at both Sears Island and Moose Point State Park. We found it convenient to travel to Belfast for dining, including a stop at Young's Lobster Pound. We hope to visit the cabin again (maybe in the summer next time) and would definitely recommend!

We took our two sons to Maine and stayed 3 nights in this lodge. The lodge was built by the owner and is decorated with hunting prizes, a beautiful spiral staircase and lots of gorgeous wood everywhere! All amenities we needed were included (sheets, towels, kitchen...) and that was so nice after traveling for a week. We all loved staying here and visited Acadia 2 times and then stayed in the town of Searsport for a day to explore. The owner was kind enough to lend us fishing rods and offered a canoe as well. He had lots of knowledge of the area and was generous and laid back. If you get to the town office during a week day, you can get a license to clam! Some things you might want to know: I would say it was more like an hour and 15 minutes to Acadia. The lodge has a few games, but bring more if you want to have a game night. Watch your speed limit. It's 25 mph heading into town! There are trails through the woods right across the main road, but we didn't get the chance to explore those.
