October is the perfect time of year, as it isn?t too cold yet, but all of the summer traffic is gone. We had a fabulous time at this place and highly recommend it!

Our friends and we really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It's clean, beautiful, well-maintained cabin, exactly what is needed for the weekend getaway. The owner is a very nice lady, she called me to let me know that everything in the cabin was ready for our pleasant stay. There is a fireplace in the cabin that kept the place very cozy and relaxing. One of the evening we did a BBQ and stayed almost all night on the porch enjoying our calm stay. I would highly recommend this cabin!

We spent almost a week here in December and loved the solitude, quiet, beauty all around, and three feet of snow. We snowshoed right from the cabin, mostly making our own trail. One day we drove to Crater Lake ( a little over an hour away) which is stunning in winter. If you love quiet and nature this is a great place to stay.

We found the Thimbleberry Cabin to have a relaxing, quiet atmosphere. The cabin's fireplace kept things very comfortable on the cool evenings and there's a good WiFi connection for electronic entertainment. Plan ahead for any supplies that may be needed since the cabin is quiet a distance away from stores.

Tiny in size, but huge in character!

    Reviewed by: Figsnrie on

    Comment:

This place is tiny in size, but you couldn't ask for more in a cabin in the snow. We arrived to find a basketful of baked goodies and bottle of wine to welcome us. With no TV to distract us, we listened to the radio, played lots of board games, baked cookies and played in the snow with the sleds and snowshoes provided. This was a perfect pre-Christmas present for us all. My only word of caution has nothing to do with the cabin itself: Make sure you bring anything you would need from a store: foodstuffs, medicines, etc.. The closest "General Store" at the lake really doesn't have much other than some canned items, milk and maybe eggs; and the holiday hours are short, if it is open at all (call first). Thank you Thimbleberry for such a wonderful stay. We hope to be back again in the future!

The cabin itself came stocked with lots of fun things to do such as: snow sleds, snow shoes, board games, a nice bbq, outdoor furniture, a nice inside wood stove, and even an amazing bottle of red wine to enjoy! The location of the cabin is perfect, only 45 minutes to Ashland and a little over an hour to Crater Lake. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking to stay in Southern Oregon!

My family stayed here for 1 week. I was worried that we might be bored but there is so much to do in this area. The house is in a great location. Easy drive to crater lake, Ashland & Klamath . We have been on the canoe tour in the upper klamath and rafting the river. We have gone to the lake a few times and of course did the Shakespeare festival. The house has everything you need. It is very quiet and peaceful. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen well equipped. We spent a lot of time sitting out on the deck. The owner was helpful with booking the house and there is a lot of information and activity ideas here at the house. The house is well cared for. We really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend this house.

First of all, Lynnette was great to work with from the get-go and made planning so easy with her great recommendations, driving directions, everything! We traveled with two couples and a dog. The cabin is absolutely adorable, decorated with love and care, and nestled into a little community that feels incredibly private. We loved grilling and eating on the outdoor deck and whiling away the evening playing games in the cozy living room. It's a short drive to Lake of the Woods, a throwback family resort well worth a visit to swim in the lake or walk the nearby trails. Crater Lake is one hour north and Upper Klamath Falls Lake is nearby as well. Would definitely return for another visit!

Amazingly Cute, Well Appointed & Kinda Kitsch Cabin in the Woods

    Reviewed by: Jennifer H. on

    Comment:

The first thing that struck us was the attention to detail. This cabin has everything you need to just bring all your own food and drink, cook up a storm and hideaway in the woods! It is also a kinda kitsch dream (in a good way!) with a whole bunch of woodland themed trinkets, sheets, toys and books. It also has a great relevant library from classics of American wilderness literature by John Muir to helpful recent guidebooks to walking the parks nearby. It is also pretty kid friendly and with great toys. But it also isn't too far from the great sights from Southern Oregon. We didn't go to Ashland this time, we just did a hike nearby at Fish Lake, went to Crater Lake and then to Lake of the Woods one night for dinner. We were there in Summer and enjoyed brunch on the deck and cooking on the grill, but it would be equally cosy in winter. If we didn't live so far away (Australia!) we would be back sooner.

We had a wonderful stay at Thimbleberry. It was the perfect location: a good distance from fun places (about 45 min from Ashland and about 90 min from Crater Lake), but far enough out to feel like you were a bit secluded. It is located in a neighborhood of sorts, which made us feel secluded but safe, particularly given that we didn't have cell service (which was actually kind of lovely). The cabin was cozy-- the perfect size for four adults and a one year old. The kitchen was well-stocked so we could cook big breakfasts and dinners, we enjoyed the Weber, were able to store our bikes in the large garage, and enjoyed the big outdoor deck. Top to bottom, this was an excellent place to stay. Service was also wonderful: Lynette and I connected regularly prior to our visit, and she was always very quick in her responses. She called us the evening we arrived to ensure that everything was in order, which was very much appreciated. We cannot recommend this cabin enough, and hope to be back to visit again soon!

This vacation was the first for our family in many years and IT HIT THE SPOT!!! It was like medicine to our souls! The cabin was so comfy and cozy! It's decorated with such charm and has all the comforts of home. We enjoyed visiting several of the nearby lakes, hiked some of the Pacific Coast trail (that is only minutes away), played cards, put together puzzles, enjoyed conversation and good food with our family, and especially loved spending time out on the deck, taking in the fresh air and enjoying the wildlife. We even had a visit from a young buck one morning. It was truly a week we will not forget! Lynette was wonderful to work with. She is quick to respond to emails and a pleasure to deal with.

*I would have given this 5 stars but the cabin could use some deep cleaning and the appliances are pretty worn. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay and we hope to visit again.

A perfect cabin in the Cascades

We needed a summer getaway near enough to Ashland to hop into town but high enough to make us feel we were up in the mountains. We needed a place where we could bring the dog along. We have friends in the area and we wanted to entertain them rather than vice versa. We didn't need cell service but needed to stay in touch via email and land line if needed. We wanted beautiful trees, beautiful views and lots of places to discover on hikes both just out the door or just a short drive away. We wanted a nearby lake and rivers that still had water even with the drought. We wanted to breath in some pure mountain air. Our dog needed chipmunks to watch. What we learned was that we needed Thimbleberry Cabin! It had everything we needed and then some. Our stay of 12 days had only one drawback and that was that it was too short. We will be back again for sure!

This cabin is beautiful, and very private. It's the perfect cabin for a family or couple that wants/needs to reconnect by disconnecting. There is not a tv in the living room and the one in the upstairs bedroom requires a HDMI cord if you want to stream video through your laptop. That being said, there are plenty of games, books, and opportunities to relax, bond, and be one with nature. I would recommend bringing a portable speaker if you want to listen to you're own music, however, the cabin has a radio that plays local stations too!

If you have kids this cabin well equipped with games and fun snow toys in the garage, and the downstairs room is adorable!

It was cozy, had everything we needed for amenities, was in a great location to reach both Ashland and the great outdoors, and had lots of entertainment for our 4 year old! The owner was great to work with and made it easy to add on an additional day to our reservation. Our only challenge during the stay was that the bedrooms are on separate floors so wasn't ideal for our 4 year old to sleep downstairs solo.
