Everything was perfect for our family of 2 parents and 4 kids. Great location and very clean. My kids love walking down to the pond and barn down the hill from the home. They even got to play with a little barn kitten and saw the horses in the field. I was concerned when we first arrived about how close the home was to the road and what that would mean for night to e sleeping and road noise. It really was no problem at all. After dark it was a very quiet road. We enjoyed our time there so very much and the kids also loved getting to go I. The hot tub that was also very well kept and clean. Thank you for a wonderful weekend away.

NOTE: I would not book this place through VRBO. For this listing, VRBO is just an advertisement. Like when you book it the reservation doesn't even appear under "My Trips". You just pay VRBO $75 and the reservation goes through Evolve (a third party). Really disappointed in VRBO for this. If they are not going to stand in the gap between us and third parties, then what is the point of booking through them? Poor practice in my opinion. I paid them $75 for doing nothing. I should have just booked through the third party.

Once inside we found the house squeaky clean and beautifully decorated. The front door has keyless entry which is so convenient! There were simple house rules, brochures, local information, menus all compiled on the kitchen counter. So simple and easy. The owners live down the road. (There are only two houses within sight of this rental and they are at a distance through the trees.) The owners were available should we have needed anything, but they were also out of sight so we were in our own bubble here. There are chubby terry robes available for the hot tub as well as a stack of towels. The bathroom towels are some of the thickest I've seen. The bed linens are quality too; layered coverlets and banks of pillows. The small things are just as nice too like fancy hand soaps and room sprays, and lots of seasonal flowers. The kitchen had everything we needed plus room left in cupboards so we could put away groceries to keep everything tidy. The house is a modest size but there are plenty of areas to spread out: sun room, hot tub, front porch or back deck, besides the living room and bedrooms. Outside.... Ahhhh.... Sweeping lawns, field and forest. Fish pond with dock. Rope hammock under towering trees. Darling small white barn with porch and swing. Pastures of contented horses. Ducks and egrets lunching at the pond. Lazy adirondack chairs and firepit. Cornhole and fishing poles available. Across the road are fields, trees, ponds, and row upon row of grapevines. Two things that are little but that I really appreciated were the bathrooms were so big and roomy, and the coffee table in the living room has that lift top that comes up like a table. Little things, but made our stay nicer. We are Mayberry fans and made frequent quick trips into Mount Airy. We will be sure to stay here when we next come to the area. This house was perfect, plus had great tasting tap water.

We stayed at this home with another couple while visiting the wineries in Yadkin Valley. I highly recommend this home if you are planning a wine tasting trip in the foothills of NC. The home is located within a 25 minute drive of numerous wineries. The owner, Kim, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. Shelton Vineyards is located about 1 mile away and has excellent wines and a fantastic restaurant.

The house is spotless and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the seasonal touches throughout the home. We'll definitely be back.

The owners kept in touch to make sure we had what we needed & were very welcoming. The horses in the pasture behind the house were beautiful to wake up to. We will definately be back. 10/10

I found this cute little cottage on VRBO & booked it for a reunion with 2 high school girlfriends. We chose this area as it's a central location for us all to meet. This is the most adorable cottage. Kim has put a lot of thought & effort into making it a great home away from home. We enjoyed every room in the cottage as well as the swing & rockers on the front porch & the fire pit in the yard. We loved our time together at Serenity Hill Cottage! We will definitely be back again in the future!

This home is so warm and inviting, making us a feel like we were at home. We laughed on the porch swinging and rocking, we laughed on the deck, we laughed in the hot tub, and we laughed and laughed and laughed. Such a wonderful time and we thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We will most definitely be back! Oh my.. what a find! As I am familiar with the area with family living in Elkin, Mt. Airy and Pilot Mountain, I have searched over the years for nice rentals and have stayed in quite a few. Between being too large and some too small.. this one is just right! It offers everything that we were looking for .. relaxing front porch with rocking chairs and swing, overlooking farm land and vineyards with incredible sunsets. Located just across the field from Shelton Vineyards, the free music on Saturday night was fabulous!! There are great sunsets from the back porch overlooking a beautiful pond, ducks included! The deck was awesome and great for entertaining and grilling out . The house and the yard were meticulous and very clean.. We wanted for naught. There were a lot of things that we really liked... Having the bedroom on the main was nice, the bedroom upstairs was spacious, the bed linens were top notch, flat screens in all rooms, the overall decor was tasteful and well done, even having access to nice laundry was a perk.. Located on a very spacious lot, we loved our little cottage! Being in real estate, our mantra has always been location, location , location.. This cottage has it.. Minutes from major interstates ( 77 and 74) as well as easy access to Mt. Airy, City of Dobson and Elkin.. Easy access to restaurants, gas stations, wineries.. everything. Best of all , the owners are very friendly, stopped in as they live just up the road and were extremely accommodating and going beyond the call of duty to insure that we had the best experience! Serenity Hill is now my farmhouse that I will be staying ( if not rented out LOL). Highly recommended!

My wife and I stayed at the Dobson Farmhouse for 3 nights in late June to explore the area. The house is VERY well refurbished, appointed, and decorated. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the fireflies after dark. While there, we went hiking at Hanging Rock State Park, kayaking on the Dan River, visited Mt. Airy (twice) and the Shelton Vineyard, which is quite literally just around the corner. It was warm enough that we didn't try the hot tub or fire pit, but both were available.

We had a chance to meet Kim and she is a very gracious host. This is a very nice property in a lovely, rural setting. I would definitely stay there again if we're in the area.
