The outside picture we saw online was appealing and the inside looked adequate, but when we got there, we were taken aback by what greeted us. The house had weeds in the driveway, entrance way, firepit area and basically all around the house. Some Poison ivy along the driveway. Whether you park in the driveway or in front of the house, be prepared for dust from the gravel road in the front to cover your car, and you when a car goes by. Allergy sufferers beware. We were going to a wedding with no car wash nearby and the dust on our car made for an unpleasant experience. Also, lots of deer around so we had to be careful when in contact with the weeds to check ourselves for ticks which we found a few. (A 30 minute session with a weed whacker would do wonders for this place.) Inside was adequate. If you come to the mountains to sit inside and watch TV, cook or sleep, this is the place for you as the kitchen and the general areas were clean and good, as were the bedrooms. That's why the reason this got 2 stars instead of 1. Pictures inside are pretty exact to what you see Online. A nice place in the winter if you don't plan on using the outside. Know the Master's closet is a flimsy coat rack. But if you want to sit outside, be prepared for the dust and absolutely no view, along with hearing cars along the busy road three feet away from the entrance. See our pics. Pool ques had missing tips and was not a real option. We were looking forward to a relaxing weekend in the mountains, and instead had to manage the dust, and the other disappointments with this house. Would not stay here again as friends stayed at other places nearby that were better kept outside as well as inside, with views and they paid less.

The property was great. Lots of room for a big group (we had 12 people in total and had plenty of space) and still maintains a cozy mountain cabin feel. We did have a couple of sore sticking points that weren't made known to us in advance and a better job could have been done in preparing the house. Not enough to ruin the experience at all, but still worth pointing out: 1. While the check-in instructions that we were provided mentioned a recycling center to discard our trash and recycling, it was not made clear that we would need to transport all of the trash/recycling down the mountain a bit to the Beech Mountain Convenience Center. This created a bit of a hassle before check-out. 2. The drain in one of the showers on the main floor was not working properly, effectively eliminating one of the showers for use. Additionally, the body wash dispenser in shower of the master bedroom was left empty and not refilled by the cleaning company in advance of our stay. Fortunately we had brought a bar of soap as backup. 3. The outdoor grills were filthy upon arrival and we were not comfortable using them. Again, we loved the house overall and would definitely recommend it to others to stay, but still some improvements can be made in advance of future guests staying in the house.

Our family of 12 enjoyed this property very much. It was clean and great spaces for 6 adults and 6 children. The beds were very comfortable. The fire pit was great! A trail out the door a bonus.

Place was beautiful. View wasn't great. No heat downstairs besides ceramic space heaters which worked well. Place had little extras that alot of rentals don't have. Coffee, filters, pancake syrup, extra trash bags etc. Only 1 towel per guest which wasn't good. Washer and dryer with washing powder a plus! Overall an excellent place to stay. Anyone wanting a get a way this is pretty perfect. Beds great and pillows amazing. Very quiet!

We are 3 families who like to travel to Beech. This year, ski weather was not good on our weekend, but that didn't matter. We were able to ski a little (but had to go to Sugar Mtn), we went on a horseback trail, and spent lots of time cooking together and playing music in the living room. The best aspect of this house is the large dining area connected to the kitchen, an ideal gathering space with lots of light from large windows. Good sleeping options for 3 adult couples and many kids, everyone had their own space and slept soundly while others gathered. Photos are accurate to the space. Fireplace was easy to use. Temperature across the house was manageable through use of ceramic heaters in cold spots. Interior was clean and ready for us on arrival. We recommend this house and if price remains competitive (past houses we liked jacked their prices up for the same weekend) would strongly consider returning again. Good example of customer service: one dining room chair was in disrepair and collapsed under one normal-sized adult who sat down. I texted the manager right away (I didn't want to be charged for broken furniture that we were not responsible for), and they replied promptly and courteously. I have a sense that if there was a serious issue it would be dealt with quickly. When we chose the house, the pool table was a major deciding factor in our decision. While the table was lovely and in good condition, all of the cues were missing tips except for one cue which was in poor condition. This was disappointing, since we only considered houses that had pool tables, and not having functioning cues precludes playing pool, no matter how nice the table. At time of check in, an email informed us that the downstairs tub drain was slow. In fact, the tub drain was completely clogged and after one person's shower the tub remained full of standing water for the remainder of the stay, which caused bathing logistical problems for a group of 11. We would have preferred the plumbing problem to be addressed prior to arrival rather than be warned about one bathroom becoming a functional half-bath. Prior renters at some point left a huge amount of cigarette butts and plastic cigar tips in and around the fire ring outside. We had to do significant cleaning in the area before we could use it. Thanks very much, it was a good stay!

This house was great for our party of 10. The house was clean but there was stuff left from previous renters (bags of trash) and previously broken furniture. The trash dump center was difficult to find. directions or address would be great for future renters. And we did not realize bath linens were limited to one towel per person with one wash cloth per bathroom. That would have been useful information as well. Good house in a good location! Thanks for the stay!

This house was very nice, clean, roomy and close to the ski resort. Fortunately, it snowed and the kids had a great time sledding down the hills in the backyard. The kids loved the downstairs game room as well. Great Location!

We enjoyed this house and the bedroom configuration worked out great for 3 small families (6 adults, 6 kids). An amazing winter wonderland and very close to skiing at Beech Mountain! The house was a little smaller than it looked and we did have some minor issues, but the rental company took care of everything. If you are planning on going in the winter, you need a 4 Wheel Drive vehicle- I do wish this was mentioned somewhere as we got snowed in and had to pay to have chains installed on our tires.

My family and I loved this cabin. The location is amazing! So close to Beech Mountain and there are beautiful trails in the backyard of the house! There was enough space for all 5 of us to spread out! If you're going to stay here with a big group I suggest you buy toilet paper as we were only given one roll per each bathroom (4 rolls total) for our five person five night six day stay. They also only gave us 1 paper towel roll and left only enough dishwasher soap for one run so we had to go out and buy some as well. We checked in at 4pm and the cleaning company was still there cleaning for a whole hour till around 5pm making it a little uncomfortable. Some of the white towels we were given had some brown stains so we had to go out and buy some at the general store. Out of the 4 bathrooms only 2 had good drainage, the claw foot tub on the top floor ( which you have to hold the shower head there isn't a stand) and the master bathroom shower. The other 2 had really bad drainage to where I felt like I was taking a bath not a shower. Other than that the cabin was very clean and beautiful. Like I said the location cannot get better and I look forward to coming back one day! Even though there were some minor hiccups we didn't let that change our mind about loving the cabin! Also I want to make it clear that I didn't reach out to the host or anyone because the issues were so minor that they didn't effect me much but I'm sure If i did reach out they would have dome something! Again we loved this cabin and it was sad to leave! We highly recommend this place!

This is a great cabin with all the amenities. Really close the entrance to Beech Ski resort and Fred's general store. We loved it and plan on renting it again!

We had a wonderful time at the Beech Mountain Log Cabin!! It was very spacious and welcoming. The fire pit was a plus along with all the deer roaming around! We will definitely visit again!

We had such a great time at this house!! We were 5 couples that were traveling to Beech Mountain for a friends wedding. We decided to make a long weekend out of it and stay 3 nights. The house was amazing and it was the perfect place for us to gather and relax. I?d recommend it to anyone and hope to make it back there sometime soon.

We had such an amazing time at this cabin. Great woods to kids to run around in, everything we needed in the home! Clean and close to trails

Plusses: The house was immaculately clean when we arrived; bedrooms were well-equipped, comforters were cozy, sheets/pillowcases were nice and soft; bedroom layout was nice for 3 couples because it enabled privacy for each; nice kitchen, the gas stove was a big plus; nice location near Fred's and several nice restaurants. Minuses: The owner changed the lockbox code and didn't tell the manager, so we couldn't get into the house; the grill is disgusting, with a thick coating of green mold all over the inside (and we'd planned a barbecue for Saturday night); we had no Wi-Fi signal for the entire weekend, so no emails or internet; we couldn't figure out how to get the TV on until late on the night before we left because there were no instructions telling us that the cable box in one of the bedrooms had to be turned on; the wall outlets in the main floor bathroom don't work; the toaster is broken; the oven doesn't get up to temperature for either baking or broiling, so in order to toast our breakfast bagels, we had to do it marshmallow-style over the stove. Nothing really major was wrong, but it was enough to be annoying and have a negative impact on our enjoyment of our weekend.

There was a nice walking trail next to a creek that you could easily access from the back of the house.

This is our second time at this particular cabin. We stayed in the summer and winter of 2016. Both trips were AMAZING. Depending on your preference in climate (I like the warmer mountain weather) there are a number of family-friendly activities to partake in. From hiking to mountain-biking, to skiing and sledding there is no shortage of outdoor to-dos. And the cabins central, yet private location was my idea of absolute perfection. Plus, there's plenty of space for the ENTIRE family. We will definitely return soon!

We loved this cabin. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. It was beautiful, spacious, nice lot with creek and walking trails right in the back yard and conveniently located only 1 mile from the base of the mountain. Thanks again! We will definitely be back! :) The Scheblers

What a great house! The perfect place for two families to ski at Beech Mtn. Kitchen was well equipped and the bonus room on the second floor was perfect for the kids. So close to the ski slopes and town for dinner. Deer in the yard made for great viewing too.

The local contact person would not answer the phone or my text at all they never changed combo to the lock box so we was stuck in the cold for a hour until the local contact called the main office back not me and the main office call me and straightened it out. Other then that the stay was good *Originally posted on Homeaway/VRBO for a stay in January 2017
Loved this cabin! It was everything and more than what we needed for a long peaceful weekend. The pictures don't do it justice. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the beds. Don't get me wrong the beds are great but they are very firm. We prefer softer beds so that was the only minus for us. But if we get a chance to stay here again we will just bring a memory foam topper. Everything else about the cabin is amazing and perfect.

During the summer I had the privilege of staying in this beautiful vacation home. If you are looking for that cozy cabin feel this is the place to stay. There is plenty of room for a large family or a group of friends. Close by you can find Beech Mountain Resort where you can ski during the winter or mountain bike during the summer. You can also find Fred's grocery store, Mile High Tavern and Famous Brick Oven with amazing pizza just minutes away. There are also amazing trails right in the backyard. I will defiantly be staying here again.
Stayed at this fantastic cabin with my family for 2 weeks. Had a fantastic experience. Plenty of space for 9 of us. Only a mile or so from the slopes which are great for mountain biking in the summer. Enjoyed the included amenities of the Beech Mountain Club. Great hiking trails right past the property's back yard that are easily accessible. All-around great experience. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again.
This house is the perfect location and the views are amazing. The house is located just minutes from any and all local restaurants and Fred's Grocery with it's awesome cinnamon rolls, across the street is a local Pizza restaurant that serves the BEST pizza. Then just up the road is Beech Mountain Ski Resort and local sledding that is for the kids. We couldn't ask for a better location to local activities. The location was about 1/4 up the mountain, which for us was great because we like to explore. So each time we went out shopping or etc, we didn't have too far to travel down the mountain.
