Our family had a great time in this house. Everything was well equipped and comfortable for our family of 4 (with 5 & 8 year old girls). Especially in a heat wave the air conditioning unit upstairs was perfect. The hosts where great and very accommodating. Would definitely stay again. Our favorite spot in our 2 week journey up the PNW coast.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this artsy home with tons of space. We were charmed by the exotic artwork and appreciated the special touches that made this a true getaway. The owner was pleasant and the location was convenient to major roads... We'd recommend this property.

The interior and exterior of this unique and beautiful home are wonderful. We loved it! The hosts were very helpful and friendly during our visit. It turned out that we had visited the property about a dozen years ago during a 'yard sale'. We were shopping for items needed for our first grand child who was on the way. What a coincidence that we returned to actually stay here - it made the visit even more fun. Oh, and the eclipse magnified that magic also!

This property is unique and charming as other reviewers have stated, and the outside gardens are beautiful. HOWEVER, this would not be the place to stay if you have any issues at all with spiders and/or cobwebs. The inside of the apartment is FULL of cobwebs. They're hanging from the ceilings, walls and fixtures. Use of the beautiful outdoor patio (especially in the morning) means walking through spider webs. The owner even stated that "spiders love this place". It makes sense with all the beautiful plants outside. I suppose it's not an issue if you have no fear of spiders. And the cobwebs inside may not bother some people, but again if you don't like spiders, or if you have dust allergies, it's a problem. The Moroccan dcor is quite unique, but I found it to be very dark inside. This, combined with all the cobwebs, created an atmosphere that felt too gloomy for my liking. I sent feedback directly to the owner regarding the cobwebs (with photos) following my stay. It was not received well. I was told that I was grossly exaggerating on the number of cobwebs, and that I must have found the only two cobwebs that were missed. Interesting that I have many photos showing they were everywhere! I was seeking a partial refund of the cleaning fee, as I think it's reasonable to expect that if you're being charged a cleaning fee the place should, in fact, be CLEAN. The owner wasn't willing to refund any portion of the cleaning fee. Rather, she said the individual they hire to do the cleaning would be asked to pay me a partial refund. I didn't think that was right, so I didn't pursue it any further. Hopefully the outcome of my honest feedback is that the cobweb situation will be remedied for future guests.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. We’ve shared your feedback with the homeowner who explained to us that you shared only glowing reviews when you saw the homeowners during your stay and didn’t express any dissatisfaction until after check-out. We encourage travelers to bring up any issues that arise while they are in residence so the homeowner has an opportunity to address them immediately to ensure guests have an excellent stay. The unit you stayed in is the largest with a loft bedroom, back deck and private gardens. It is surrounded by an abundance of trees and plants everywhere which can, naturally, become home to some critters. As a result, there may be new webs in the branches and the odd cob web in the rafters as well, but we are sorry to hear your stay fell short of expectations because of this. We appreciate your feedback, as we and the homeowner want to make sure future guests have an excellent vacation in this unique home. Best, The Evolve Team
Attractive interesting historic building and furniture in great garden space. Could use a little more vacuuming and tidying. Worked really well for our family, plenty of space and usable kitchen.

marvelous place, with beautiful artful interiors, exotic furnishings and fantasy gardens all around. Jules was a most charming and hospitable hostess. We look forward to coming back in the future.

This property is in the parsonage of a former church. It has a nice kitchen and bathroom and interesting Morroccan accents. The king size bed in the loft is very comfortable but you must duck to get in and out of bed due to it being under the eaves. The loft is accessed by a spiral staircase. Overall we found the the property to be dark, a bit gloomy, and more rustic than we expected. We stayed during a rainy Spring week. This may be a better accommodation in the drier summer months when there is more sun and one can enjoy the deck and fire pit.

My partner and another couple stayed here for 3 nights over the (Canadian) thanksgiving long weekend. We had a great stay as it was very peaceful and close to downtown Portland which was a necessity for out stay. The apartment was easily accessible with parking right in front and the property owner, Colleen, was exceptional. She messaged me before we arrived letting us know if we had any questions not to hesitate to ask and informed us, after we left, one of our guests left a sweater. She offered to go out of her way to mail it back to us ASAP. The property is unique and private with a full kitchen, beautiful bathroom, two bedrooms and has lots of space. When we travel back to Portland I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family without hesitation. It was like staying at a cabin in the forest but close to the city!

This house is so unique and interesting! With beautiful wood throughout and decorated with Moroccan accents, this property is spacious yet cozy. Originally posted on Homeaway September 2016
Besides being in a great location, the property takes you away to another land. Very private with amazing gardens and fountains, it is the perfect setting for a get together. We had our daughter's engagement party here and it was just a spectacular venue. A large open floor plan indoors and beautiful yard with firepit. The owner lives on the property and made sure it was absolutely pristine for our event. Not many vrbos allow events but she encourages them. Everyone raved about it and we will surely be back for our next event!!
