Disappointing start, misleading information in the listing

    Reviewed by: Julie B on

Actual rental rooms are attached to meeting house, not renovated meeting house as listing states. There is no yard to speak of for relaxing. Plenty of room to park and maneuver to exit the property which is necessary because it is a very busy road. Upon our arrival, home was not cleaned from previous renters. A very disappointing start to our long anticipated Maine vacation. Owner was contacted, and we were asked to leave and return in 2 hours so that the cleaning could be done. Which we did, and the house was cleaned to our satisfaction.

    An interesting place to stay

We really loved this place; it is very well kept, clean and quiet. It's a very historic area, and we enjoyed walking around the small town and learning about some of its history.

    An adorable place

Sparkling clean! An adorable place ...comfortable beds, spacious and well appointed bathrooms. The kitchen was also well equipped with plenty of room for the six of us to cook and gather. Though the street seemed busy during the day, at night it was quiet. I would highly recommend staying here.

The rental unit - part of a former church - is by far one of the nicest I have ever visited

Reviewed by: Florida Vacation H. on

Location is great. A short walk to Kennebunk, a short drive to Kennebunkport and easy access to the highway for a shopping trip to Freeport. The rental itself was exceptional. Part of the former church, with a new, fully equipped kitchen, and a large living space with plenty of dining locations, this spot was perfect for a rainy weekend. I have never stayed in a vacation rental that mirrored all the amenities you would find in a high end hotel. All linens (including beach towels, which, unfortunately we did not use in October), basic spices, soaps and magazines were plentiful. My daughter and her 2 1/2 year old joined us for a night and loved the running around space. I would definitely rent this unit again if I am headed to Kennebunk. Five stars.

    It was a perfect flat.

    Reviewed by: Kathy F. on

7 th Heaven was a perfect flat for our family. It was very clean and well located. My 88 year old dad had no problem staying there with the ramp to the front door, the single level with no rugs to trip on, and a walk in shower. I would definitely stay there again in the future.

Comfortable, unique and well-cared for, the meeting house made us feel a part of Kennebunk.

    Reviewed by: Carolyn H. on

The meeting house was perfect for our family of six. The teens were comfortable and had plenty of space and my 80-year-old parents could access all amenities with comfort. Plenty of space for the family to share time and meals together and great central place in town to enjoy this part of Maine. Kevin and Anna have put their heart into restoring this place and giving it new purpose. Located in the best part of the village center, we enjoyed the buzz of activity and people without the hordes. Coffee shops, bistros and pubs were in easy walking distance, not to mention great shops to poke around in. The best part was discovering the many beautiful beaches and taking long, long walks.

We booked this house for a quick weekend for a wedding in Kennebunkport and we had no complaints. The house was located in a unique setting and central location to Kennebunk, Portland, Portsmouth, Kennebunkport, etc. The linens and towels were nice and the rooms were clean and well stocked. Beach towels and parking pass came in handy. No complaints and would definitely stay here again.

My sister and myself traveled to Maine from Minnesota and Montana to spend time with cousins we haven't seen for 40-50 years. We were so happy with this lovely house 7th Heaven! We met two cousins and their husbands and it couldn't have been more perfect. We were especially happy to see it was all one level. We loved listening to the church bells ring on the hour every hour. We loved that everything was in walking distance and enjoyed spending time in Kennebunk. We spent time with 4 more cousins that live in the area. Thank you!!

Comfortable and quaint but missing some things

Kitchen was nice but had few dishes. No large bowls and no lobster pot or tools to open a lobster. Master bath was so cute! Very thought out! The laundry room was great, but had a terrible odor. All in all a nice stay, great location and very quaint. A DVD player would have been nice in the living room. *This review was originally posted on VRBO for a stay in Aug-16

    Experience Maine

We highly recommend this house. The owners were beyond friendly and helpful. It was very updated, fully equipped and extremely clean. The location was awesome - quiet out of the congestion, walk to town, drive to several beaches and centrally located for short drives to many other towns. They provided us with a beach parking pass. We came from the west coast and had a great time with our small kids and experienced quintessential Maine.
