The area was nice. But the unit didn't have air conditioning and it was 95 degrees outside.

Joe, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We're sorry about the heat and that it made for an uncomfortable stay. Most of the older homes in Ruidoso, like this one, don't have air conditioning as it's not typically necessary. We do not advertise air conditioning in this home and the homeowner prices the home accordingly during the warmer months. Nonetheless, we're sorry if this caught you off guard and we appreciate your feedback. Thanks again for the review! Best, the Evolve Team
We loved it. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean and nice 2 bedroom cabin. We had deer bedded down in the backyard several times over the few days we were there. The owner gave us plenty of info and we had no trouble at all. Close to town and activities.

We loved our stay in Ruidoso. The cabin was very clean and had everything that we needed. The location was great and my children enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife from the deck. The owner was so helpful. We would definitely reserve this cabin again!

The whole outside and inside of the cabin was so nice. It felt cozy and comfortable, it was big enough inside. Perfect for 4 people. Highly recommended this cabin.

The home was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the weekend. It is very close to town. The king sized bed is very firm so if you like something softer you might want to take an egg crate or something. The deck was perfect for drinking our coffee & enjoying the mornings.

Wonderfully comfortable cabin in Ruidoso was exactly as promised. We loved the location. Everything was handy. Such pleasantly cool mornings at 55 degrees during this summer heat.

Very comfortable, cozy, clean cabin. Location is great, in walking distance to good restaurants and a nice walk around The Links Golf Course. The cabin is well equipped with very comfortable beds. Loved the headboards made from old doors! Felt like our home away from home, but in a beautiful, quiet, cool setting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings and evenings. Owner is great, very helpful, sending us information about the area and the cabin, and very quick to respond to any questions you might have. We even left a pair of shoes at the cabin that he is mailing to us! Highly recommended and we hope to stay here again on our next trip.
Cozy place, perfect for a small family or a few friends.
Very nice cabin. Perfect for our family of 4.

Our family (4 adults and 1 baby) recently stayed in this cabin during our trip to Ruidoso. The rooms were very spacious (even more spacious then they appear in the pictures) and we all slept very comfortably. We were so glad to have a cabin to stay in as opposed to a hotel because we had a young baby with us. We were able to put him to bed early in one of the bedrooms and then we were all able to eat, visit, and watch TV in the main living areas without worrying about waking the baby. Two of us skied while we were there and the others stayed back at the cabin and hiked, spent time outside on the deck, walked to shops/grocery store, and hung out at the cabin. We cooked some meals and also went out to a nearby restaurant which was delicious. Our trip was so enjoyable and a huge part of that was because of our stay here at this cabin! We hope to stay here again!
My family and I traveled to Ruidoso from Texas to go skiing, and we stayed at this cabin in town. We loved everything about our stay at this cabin. The fully furnished lodging made it easy to cook, sleep, and hang out. The location was right in the middle of town, which allowed us to go to the store and restaurants within a couple of minutes. The cabin is even within walking distance of several stores and restaurants. The skiing was great, and we enjoyed our time on the mountain immensely. From the cabin, we simply turned left and we were headed straight for Ski Apache. It was the easiest route we could have anticipated. In short, everything about our trip and stay at the cabin was great. We thoroughly enjoyed the skiing, the town, and our stay at this cabin. We would highly recommend it!
Had a great stay at the Kafer's cabin. It was very comfortable for the five of us. Great location in Ruidoso, too. *Originally posted on Homeaway/VRBO for a stay in December 2016
Our family spent 7 days between Christmas and new years, location was convenient for quick access to the slopes as well as the shops downtown, the grocery store (Albertsons) was very close too.
Rooms were spacious, had plenty of extra bedding, blankets, kitchen was very well equipped. We saw a lot of deer in the backyard, it was a great stay.

This was a Teachers/Friends trip to Ruidoso. We were excited to actually stay in a home/cabin rather than a hotel! Upon our arrival, we were extremely satisfied and happy about our choice! This cabin is absolutely WONDERFUL! It has everything you could possibly need during your stay! The beds are very comfortable, there's enough light throughout, the shower head is nice, and the living room with its fireplace makes for very cozy warm evenings! There was more than enough chopped wood and everything was great! The owner was able to help us with the key code upon our arrival! He also e-mailed very thorough directions prior to our trip! We WILL definitely be back in Ruidoso sooner rather than later; needless to say, we already know where to stay!

Had a great experience. The cabin was a little closer to the main road than we expected but overall it was a good location. Beds were very comfortable and it had everything we needed. Very cozy.

Loved the comfortable cabin. Felt like home away from home. Will definitely be returning. I especially enjoyed watching the wildlife from the back deck, taking walks on some of the many nearby hiking paths, and sleeping on the couch in front of the cozy fireplace.
I enjoyed my recent trip to Ruidoso, and the Kafers' rental cabin was perfect. It was nice, clean, beautifully decorated, and had all of the amenities I could hope for. It is located close to shopping in midtown, and it is only a short drive to Ski Apache, Inn of the Mountain Gods, and other points of interest. I highly recommend staying here when you visit.
We made a trip to the mountains for spring break. As last time the accommodations at the cabin were awesome and we enjoyed our stay. The cabin wifi and cable tv are great. We also love seeing all the wild life visiting and grazing. The location is great and I find it perfect for getting to the mountain to snowboard or into town for dinner/drinks. I know where I'll be staying next snow season!
This cabin was perfect for our family! It was very clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our family of 5. We cooked most of our meals while staying here on vacation and the kitchen was well equipped with all of the pans and utensils that we needed.
Thanks for a great experience!
We had a great stay at this cabin while visiting Ruidoso in December. It was clean and very comfortable. The cabin is conveniently located just a couple of blocks off Mechem Drive. Skiing was a blast. Plenty of snow this year! Will be back!
The cabin is awesome and provided our family everything we need to feel right at home (games, TV and kitchen supplies). The location is also great with ~35 minute access to the Ski Apache and several rental options within 5 minutes. I'm already looking forward to our next visit to Kafer's Cabin.
What a great place to visit. The weather, the sights and the people are special. I will visit as often as possible.
Four of us shared the cabin and it was great! We could not believe how completely furnished it was...right down to coffee and creamer! Very comfortable and the location is great. For skiers it is easy access to the road up.
The conveniently located cabin had all the comforts of home. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was nicely furnished. We liked the fact that it was just a very short walk to a couple of restaurants and a convenience store. A couple of deer seem to call the back yard home. The deck is an enjoyable place to spend some time. We will definitely be back!
