Danette's home was impeccably neat and enjoyable to stay in. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake every evening. I didn't realize there was only only one bedroom on the main floor, so our kids slept in our bedroom on the floor. The neighborhood might have been a little rough, but that isn't unusual for Colorado Springs. Right next to Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, and Old Colorado City--the location couldn't be better.

We enjoyed the stay. The home was very nice and homey. The only thing I wish the description would have mentioned is that it was on a corner lot between 2 busy streets. Also, the view was mountains in thw background but your close up view is a cemetary. The owner was helpful during the trip. I had a couple questions about where to put our trash and how to run the Tv. She replied in a timely fashion. The bedding and linens were amazing. We slept very well. We used the electric grill almost every night. The water dispenser in the fridge was also handy when wanting to fill up our water bottles for a day of hiking. It was also very nice to be able to use the washer and dryer to do our laundry, so we could pack lighter.

We can see staying in this property again. It’s a two story with extra bedrooms and bath below grade. Plenty of room for 6 to sleep, but the living areas would be crowded if you spent much time inside. Small but very well-stocked kitchen with lots of staples and even a boatload of tea bag choices!
The location is outstanding. When you sit on the deck you look at the back of Red Rocks Canyon Open Space. We hiked twice there.
Old CO City and Manitou are super close, as is a million other COS places to go, see, and do!

    Comment:

At a convenient location, a short drive to Old City's main street, you'll find a modern, nicely decorated, and quite comfortable duplex--we (two couples) stayed in #1109. Entry to it is easiest from the front street but we chose to park in the driveway (in back) off a quiet neighborhood street--but doing so then entailed walking up stairs to the back door that is off a deck. Speaking of stairs, the ones to the two downstairs bedrooms is a little steep for "older" folks--just a heads up to those who might need it. Furniture, linens, towels, etc., are all as expected in a nice, middle-class home--there's even a $3,000 Ekornes stressless recliner in the living room. Nice! We all really enjoyed are stay and I would book this place again, if back in the area. Willingness to return is my best recommendation.

Overall, we had a nice stay here. The location is good for us as it is very close to where a relative lives (near Old Colorado City). We found the house layout and amenities to be as described on the website. The property was quiet- we never heard any sounds from the adjoining unit. It might be noisier in the summer with windows open- there is a fair amount of traffic on the road in front of the dwelling. The property is clean, however we had 2 maintenance issues. 1) We woke up to no hot water on Thanksgiving morning. The issue was resolved in a timely manner. However, 2 of the 3 of us had to take completely cold showers that day as we were on a schedule to get to our Thanksgiving dinner plans! 2) The overhead lights in the living room did not work. We had to transport a lamp from the bedroom to the living room in the evenings to make it brighter in there. I did not report this while we were there -didn't want to deal with it on vacation- however have reported it since returning home so next guests hopefully won't experience this. There are many attractions in the area: Old Colorado City, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Highway, Cog railway, just to name a few. There are also ample biking opportunities in this area. We would consider staying here again and recommend it to others.

We called Evolve and were told that they would try to reach the owner. My husband got the water heater lit, but no one ever came to check it. We asked for another unit and were told there were none, we asked for a refund and were told that Evolve couldn't authorize that. On Monday, 5/9/16, we returned to the unit and found a couple who appeared to be trying to access the unit by way of the front door keypad. The male identified himself as the owner's son (how were we to know?) and claimed to have come to get "something" from the garage. We spent the rest of the week feeling as though we had no real sense of privacy or security. We felt trapped because we couldn't get a refund and we were disappointed with the lack of support we got from Evolve. *This review was originally posted on VRBO for a stay in May-16 - Manager Response: Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. Beautiful Home!

The home was beautiful. Lot's of stairs inside and out, and unfortunately I have difficulty with stairs. There were only 2 trash bags to be found but thankfully we had brought our own. We bought batteries for the TV remote and while it said no pets allowed, our clothing did get pet hair from the furniture. I also would like to suggest supplying a skillet, there was only one medium pot for cooking. While a lot of this may sound negative, let me say it is beautifully located near most of the area attractions. However, it is directly across the street from the cemetery and I did not read that anywhere in the rentals information. It did not bother us, but other's might find that very distressing. From the patio, we watched 2 deer come down every evening and cross the yard while making their journey in to town. The house is beautiful, and I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this rental over the 4th of July and were blown away! Firstly, it's gorgeous inside and out! Nicely appointed and has anything you could possibly need. It was so comfortable for my family and the kids LOVED having their own space downstairs. I cooked several meals in the kitchen and had everything I needed. The washer and dryer are very handy too. The beds were comfortable and the satellite TV and wifi were awesome. Secondly, the location was perfect. Close to many of the attractions. Groceries and good restaurants are close by. We could even see the Manitou Springs fireworks from the deck! It's a lovely, quiet neighborhood and we cannot wait to stay here again!

Stayed here during the US Air Force Academy graduation of my son-in-law's brother. Very nice and well stocked with many unexpected little touches. Owner was very nice to work with and we communicated easily even though she was out of the USA at the time. Very convenient to many of the sights in the area such as Manitou Springs cliff dwellings, Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. Did convey to the owner that the comfort of the furniture in the living room needs to be improved as well as the lighting for the stairway up to the deck from the garage. A couple extra pillows on the master bed would increase comfort as well. Come and stay and play, you'll enjoy the place!

I brought my parents to Colorado Springs to visit my son who is USAFA cadet. The house was conveniently located near the interstate, Historic Colorado City, parks(including Garden of the Gods) and shopping. My father is a geologist so the view of the rock formations were an added bonus. The house was clean and well stocked. The only thing I was disappointed in was the amount and comfort of seating in the living room. But since we spent very little time sitting in the living room it did not take away from the experience.

Very nice home with beautiful views from the deck and front porch. This home has everything you need, well equipped kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom and a nice small grill on the deck. Great location, just a couple blocks away from Old City Colorado and very close to Red Rock Canyon for a nice hike. The owner was very informative and provided all the necessary information before we arrived. I highly recommend this home and would stay here again when visiting Colorado Springs.

This home was perfect for our 4 day stay in Colorado Springs. It was reasonably priced and in very good condition. Comfortable beds, newer feel to home, good size master bedroom, well-stocked kitchen, excellent AC, updated throughout, great tv station coverage, and perfect location for all things to do in Colorado Springs. I also was able to speak personally with the owner, who was very kind and accommodating! If we ever need to stay in Colorado Springs again, I would definitely want to stay here again!

This property was located near to hwy 24 and thus easy to get to anywhere in the Springs. You can also jump on hwy 24 and get up to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs in 10 minutes. The inside of the house was very nice and comfortable. Master bed was very comfortable and a joy to sleep in. The only negative was the road in front of the house can be a little noisy...but the bedrooms are on the other side so it does not effect your sleep at all.
