Was a different experience from the start. We had two different people tell my older kids that this was not the party side and not to get in to trouble which upset us from the start... we were there on a family trip and I did not appreciate workers being so rude to my kids. Had to let workers come into our room twice to fix the water heater ( first night we could not shower due to no hot water) they took care of the problem . Then we wake up the next day to tickets on our cars because the new security guard did not do his job correctly and had to deal with all that !!!!! So relaxing vacation it was not. The security lady who goes around writing tickets for EVERYTHING! If your car is not 100% parked straight she will write you a ticket! There was so many rules there we felt we were in prison! We washed the sand off our chairs and sat by the door for 2 minutes to dry off and not only did someone come by and steal one of our chairs we were told u can't even let your stuff sit there for a minute or you will get a ticket!!! To say the least the place had pretty flowers and trees but the place was run by people who made you feel like you were not welcome. Another bad thing was you couldn't go down to the beach without all the fisherman down there taking up all the beach in front of the resort which is against beach rules that none one inforces! Like I said before.. it was ok for a one time visit but I will not go back.

    Manager's Response:
Misty, we're sorry to hear your stay fell short of your expectations. The homeowner would like to share the following message:

"We are sorry about the staff and have reported it to the office. We did not know about your issues with them or the fishermen and would have contacted the General Manager to rectify it. All our contact information is provided in our materials and posted in the condo. We respond immediately, as you discovered with the guard's pass error. We also are happy to provide other satisfactory resolutions had we been made aware of your concerns during your stay. We replaced the old water heater proactively to provide more hot water for guests, but unfortunately, as was explained, they installed a faulty one. Our property manager and I apologized and offered alternate accommodations in an adjacent unit, and your daughter showered in another unit as well. Condominium complexes and timeshares all have rules to protect the residents and property. Guests must follow the rules, but the owners are responsible for any tickets. The owners and our team will always do the best we can to make visits pleasant and worthy of our five-star experience."

Overall, we had an okay time. I liked how the beach was less populated than other parts of the island. Things that I did not like were: the lanai is not quite the balcony feel. It has screens and only one window opens all the way without a screen. None of the windows on the lanai lock! And, there is not interior lock on the door of the condo. Both of these things made us feel a little unsafe. There’s no telling who all has the code to the door. We put a chair against it at night time. Needless to say, we didn’t sleep well. The dishwasher did not work. The tide goes out so far that you can’t play in the water until it comes back in which was not until about 4pm when we were there. We brought our children with us, ages 3 and 5. There were at least 3 instances where an older person made a comment to us because of the kids. The people here must not be used to kids. Kids are excited at the beach one person even came out of their room at noon to tell us we need to remember that there are other people’s bedrooms around there. This was as we were walking to the beach and the kids were just excited about going. We will not be going back.

    Manager's Response:
Rhonda, we're sorry to hear certain aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations. The homeowner would like to share the following message:

"Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you perceived there to be difficulties with the locks and dishwasher. All of the doors and windows lock, the condo is on the second floor, there is 24-hour Security on the premises, and the only ones that have access are the property manager and office in case of an emergency. We provided you with the contact information of our on-site property managers who live at The Spa and they would have been happy to show you the proper operation of any locks and appliances. The owners and property managers pride themselves on providing a quick response to any concerns, via email, text, or phone call. The listing notes that the beach is more for beachcombing than swimming and that there is a pool is located right outside the unit."

I?m going to give a fairly detailed review. What?s great is it?s the closest you can get to the beach. Completely awesome and steps from the pool and tree shaded area where you can watch the waves of the sound. The place was beyond clean and had everything one could need. I really appreciate the towels, soaps, and starter t-paper as well as kitchen items. It?s fairly easy to get around the island and there are many places for picking up items or shopping. Some really awesome restaurants too. It was fun to experiment at new places to eat. Also the island is beyond gorgeous and a day trip to Savanna took no time to get too and shops/eat. Also not sure if this changes with seasons but the place was very quiet and peaceful didn?t have any issues with noise or disturbances. WiFi and TVs/cable was easy and worked in all the rooms. Very hot water and master bathroom was really nice. My mom slept in the second room and said she couldn?t hear anything either so it?s pretty sound proof too. So here are some things to be aware of while there. The traffic can drive you nuts just expect it. It flows just a lot of traffic. Side note check out Hilton Head ice cream...so good! The parking is just a pain. Although you are supposed to get spots by your end of the building sometimes they all were taken and we just parked way down when coming back later after dinner but it wasn?t a big deal. The stairs are not horrible but if like us you are out of shape or have bad knees just take your time. We actually laughed at each other a lot and kept saying the more we did the stairs the more dinner we got to eat! ?? The rugs are sort of bamboo like and a bit rough on the feet just bring some flip flops if you have sensitive feet. Washer and dryer was awesome for quickly doing towels and suits. This is a great place for a small family since the beach and pool are so close. Couples will love it as well. I highly recommend it and was glad I found the treasure. The small things are all minor annoyances and nothing that would stop me from telling someone to book this place! Just things to know in advance. You can tell the owners take pride in a nice place and it shows.

    Comment:

My family loves to vacation slightly off the beaten path. This condo location was PERFECT for us. Our party of 6, grandparents, parents and two children, chose The Spa for its ideal location with lots of beach-combing possibilities. We arrived at our check-in time of 4pm ready to unpack and explore. The condo was just as pictured, small, but just what was needed for a week's vacation. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of pillows to choose from. The kids used the sleeper sofa and had no complaints. The condo is on the second floor, and with no elevator, we were glad of it only being a one-floor walk up. The location of the condo is ideally located close to the beach and pools. There is a smaller pool just outside the condo and a larger pool just down the jogging path. Both outdoor pools have restroom facilities. The pools were great for cooling down after a long, hot morning combing the beach for treasures. Neither pool was crowded AT ALL during any of our times there. We visited the beach and pool every single day. The smaller pool is a bit cooler than the larger pool, as it is always shaded. We enjoyed our time at both pools, with the kids liking the size of the larger pool. There is plenty of seating at both pools. The indoor pool was closed for renovation, but we knew this ahead of time and didn't plan to use it anyway in July. The condo itself had everything we needed, plenty of bedding, beach towels, towels, kitchen items. It was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything else. The ease of using the code to unlock and lock the door was great, too. No keys to lose. This was also true with the pool areas. Even though this condo is located on the north end of the island, away from it all, so to speak, it is super close to everything on the island you would want to do. I think the longest drive would be all the way down south, about 30 minutes. Most things we went to were only a 5-15 minute drive. We loved the location at the dead end street. So quiet - except for the nearby small airport. We found the planes going overhead fascinating, however, and weren't bothered at all, as they didn't seem to fly at all overnight and were fun to watch from the beach. If I had to knit-pick and choose one thing to change, it would be the rugs in the condo. Nothing to knock a star off the rating about, but the rugs were not very comfortable to walk on. Everything else was fantastic, and we highly recommend! Just watch out for the rugs. :)

Kitchen really is fully stocked. Anything we needed was there. Located at the end of a dead end road so there is some privacy. Tennis courts, pools, property has amenities. There are chairs, towels, & beach games available. Full size washer and dryer in the room was nice. Con's: First off, this is not "a house/condo close to the beach", hence the "ehh" review. If I had to describe the property as if I wasn't trying to rent it out, I would say it is more like a 2nd floor college dorm room about 250 yards from an inlet. I understand it is ocean water, but by no means is this a beach. You can see neighboring islands, there are virtually no waves, and the tide goes out so far it turns your "closest 2 bedroom to the beach" into a "let's just stay inside today" since you have no option but to walk. This is on the second floor with no elevator access, which wasn't a deal breaker. You can see water from the screened in porch which used to be the balcony (still don't understand why you would enclose that part of the apartment). The outdoor pool was unusable when we were there. 80 degrees outside but it's covered by shade trees to where the water wasn't warm enough. The indoor pool was under renovation so I didn't get to try that out. I don't see how families of 6 stay in this apartment. My husband and I barely had enough room with the 2 of us. I had to use the 2nd bedroom beds just to lay my clothes out because there is no room in the master. The master bed was uncomfortable for us and they try to squeeze a king into a room that could barely fit a queen. However, the shower is a nice touch. appears to be one of the only updated things in the apartment. Couch wasn't comfortable to relax on and was pretty much the only furniture to sit on other than the dining chairs. All this nit picking aside, my biggest complaint is your TV/Cable situation. The TV's are entirely too small with poor picture quality and who doesn't have a normal cable box now? It's 2018....we had to use an internet site to view the TV guide to even see what was playing. We don't watch movies so the DVD selection did not appeal to us. Maybe we are too TV oriented, but we like to watch shows on quality TV's after dinner and before going to bed. The front screen door is too hard to open. Oh yea, you are directly beside an airport...and a busy one at that I might add. I would write more but they limit my space. Would not stay again, wouldn't have stayed to begin with if advertised correctly.

Manager's Response: Jeffrey and Bobbie, We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen and amenities, but sorry that the property was not what you were expecting. We take the accuracy of our listings seriously - it's one of our 4 Core Property Standards! We’ve confirmed that the condo is 100 feet from the beach, and nearby various other beaches and nature preserve. We provide professional photos of every room in the recently updated condo, including the screened lanai, as well as the square footage and sleeping arrangements in the description. We’ve verified that the small local Hilton Head Island airport is located a mile away with limited daily service. We appreciated your understanding when you were informed before your stay that the indoor pool would be unavailable, and we are sorry that you were not able to enjoy the outdoor pools. The homeowner provides a standard Spectrum cable box with a 42 inch main TV. They do wish that you had let them know about your TV issues so they could immediately assist you. They would have been happy to resolve any issues while you were still at the property. The owners are dedicated to the comfort of their guests, and we are confident that they will continue to provide a 5-star stay for every traveler that visits their home. Best, the Evolve Team

We saw and was able to photograph a majestic bald eagle! Robbie is a great host and has gone to great lengths to have everything you could possibly need available for your use. Tons of beach chairs, floating mats, boogie boards, pool and sand toys, beach towels, all kinds of board games, books, magazines, lots of dishes. Condo was very nice, just as pictured here. The enclosed back porch area directly overlooks one of the pools and then there is a side view, just gorgeous, of the ocean and pier and beautiful trees. This would be a great place to bring kids!!

Comfortable. Maybe a table fan in small bedroom would be nice addition

The unit, itself was very clean and well equipped. The owner was very thorough with details of the amenities. There is an extensive movie and book collection, although, we did not use them. There are beach chairs and towels available for your use. There is a small beach area with a nice pier that was very pretty and relaxing. The entire condo community, however, is very dated and run down. Our unit was clean and had very comfortable beds but the decor was very dated and we were disappointed that there was no outside balcony. It appears to have had a balcony that had been enclosed into a sunroom with a slide window, but the unit has no outside seating area. The pictures online show a view of the water that appears to be from a balcony but it is a view from outside the front door. I was looking forward to having a place where we could have a view of the water, while enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would definitely choose another place if we visit again. Sadly, even if the unit was completely remodeled, the rest of the property is in need of major renovations.

JoAnne, We are glad that you enjoyed the unit overall and appreciate the feedback, which has been passed along to the condo board for the property. We’ve shared your comments with the homeowner who let us know that all of the furnishings, artwork, etc., were purchased within the last two years and are top of the line, though we do understand this may be a matter of personal taste. The homeowner also let us know that the master bath is scheduled to be remodeled next month with a walk-in shower for guest convenience. The porch is glassed in so it may be enjoyed year round. We and the homeowner take feedback from our guests very seriously, and we appreciate you letting us know, as we want to ensure future guests have an exceptional stay in this vacation home! Not your usual beachfront property

This is not your usual beach front property. The property is private and is beautifully landscaped with meandering paths and water features. The views are beautiful and the property has shaded swings and park benches where you can sit and enjoy them. The beach area is actually on Port Royal Sound, so the water is calmer and during low tide you can walk way out. The condo itself was clean and comfortable with everything you need. It is obvious that some thought has gone into it. The only negative thing I noticed was there apparently are no groundskeepers on the weekend and the pool area was not very clean when we first got there, but Monday morning everything was whipped into shape and stayed that way through the week. We did cut our stay short due to Irma, but would return to this property.

We stayed for the first week in April 2017 for spring break. There were 3 of us, including our teenage daughter. Hilton Head Island was perfect for day trips into Charleston and Savannah. We are calling this our "Food Vacation" because the wide variety of great restaurants on the island encouraged us to have a different meal experience each day. Highly recommend the following: Hudson's, Frankie Bones, Reilly's Pub, Bullies BBQ, Main Street Cafe, and Atlanta Bread Company on the island. If you go to Charleston, Early Bird Diner on the way into Charleston has a great all day breakfast menu. We opted not to golf this time, but found plenty to do otherwise. The dophin tour was amazing and the shopping on the island incredible.
This condo was perfect. Everything including beach chairs and towels were provided. It appeared that the furniture was new (perhaps due to Hurricane Matthew that visited in the fall of 2016). We loved the decorations on the walls especially! There was easy way to enter the property and it was nice not to have to meet someone for keys, etc. Loved the close location to the beach and pool. It was also very easy to find. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. Quick note, it is on the 2nd floor but located right next to the staircase so it was easy to carry luggage and groceries in and out.

This place was truly great. The complex was situated on a very quiet part of the island, but was still easy for us to go out to eat for every meal. It was very relaxing! We took advantage of the indoor pool/hot tub (which we had all to ourselves), took a walk on the beach and saw a lot of nature- including dolphins. There is an all-sand island that is accessible by wading in hip-height water, too, which was a fun adventure. The beach is not your typical beach (like Myrtle). It is better for shell collecting than tanning, but we still did both. Like every part of the complex, we encountered very little people. The actual condo was very comfortable. We ate out for every meal, but it look well equipped for anyone who wants to cook. I am kind of neat freak, and you could tell that this unit had a maid service come through. It was spotless. The bed was amazing- like sleeping on a cloud. And from the porch, you get a view of the pool, lagoon, and beach. Parking was right in front of the unit and we never had a problem finding a space. Overall, exactly what we were looking for and I would highly recommend!
