The condo was very clean and tidy when we got there. There was a stale smoke & musty smell to the unit, so we appreciated that the owners had air fresheners and candles.
We had some issues getting the garbage disposal and TV to work, but eventually figured it out. Luckily, my husband has installed a few disposals and knew we needed to reset it, in order to get it working again. Although, it would have been nice to have some instructions for accessing the TV & DirecTV systems. Also, several of the remotes had no batteries, so having some spare batteries in the unit would have been helpful.
The kids loved their single beds and thought they were very comfy. However, the queen master led to several rough nights of sleep for my husband and I. It was a sleep comfort bed, not a sleep number bed. Basically, a higher end blow up mattress.
It took some time rummaging around the kitchen to find utensils, as things were just thrown into drawers, perhaps labeling the drawers/cabinets for guests would help to make sure things go back where they belong and easier to find items. I was surprised to find one kitchen towel and no scrub brush for cleaning pots/pans, etc. A couple of kitchen towels would have been nice because ours started to smell really funky after two days. And, a scrub brush for getting crusted food off of pots/pans is really must. I very much appreciated that the fridge was new, clean, and emptied (aside from condiments)...it made it super easy to just load our food right into.
The new rec center with several hot tubs and indoor pool was definitely a hit and literally a 2 min walk door to door. The LIFT ski resort shuttle couldn’t have been any closer as I could see the bus stop right across the street from the kitchen window. Location of this unit was perfect to everything we needed/wanted!! All in all, it was a solid and quiet place to relax and rest our head after several days of skiing.

Brittney, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall! We appreciate your suggestions on areas of improvement and have shared them with the homeowners. Since your stay, the condo has received numerous updates including new furniture in the bedrooms, new vinyl flooring in the bathroom, and new wood doors. They have also replaced the bed with a high-end mattress in the master bedroom to enhance guest comfort. The owners strive to provide excellent guest experiences, and we're confident this home will continue to host many satisfied guests! Best, the Evolve Team

I nearly gave this condo a 4. Clean and convenient condo. Plenty of parking. Quiet location on the 3rd floor. Very nice and recently updated rec center very close by. Right on the free shuttle line. Very easy owner and management company to work with, flexible when I needed to change our dates. The condo itself needs some heavy TLC; the furnishings and decorations are a mishmash and the closets and cabinets are cluttered. Beds need to be replaced. The heat worked fine, but the thermostat cover had fallen off. The screen door wouldn't close fully. The dresser drawers fell out when used. All appliances in good working order, shower was great. Give this place an update and it'll be a 4 for sure.

Amy, we're glad you enjoyed this condo overall. We are happy to inform you that numerous updates have taken place since your stay. There are brand new beds and dressers in both the master and extra bedroom with extra comfortable mattresses. The homeowners value your feedback, as they have also cleared out the cabinets even though most guests most tenants love to have all the spices, etc. The decorations are eclectic but most of our tenants seem to enjoy the Bev Doolittle pictures. It is the Kokkapelli Palace. They would love to host you again so you can fully enjoy your stay and see all of their wonderful upgrades! Best, the Evolve Team
The complex was easy to find, great location and close to everything we wanted to do however, the mattress was the most uncomfortable “blowup” mattress ever. My wife and I had to sleep in the two single beds separately both nights. There was a blinking blue light above the stove that would not stop, was rather obnoxious. Also, a very kind neighbor left us a note on the windshield with profanity along with bending our windshield wiper backward, on our rental. The amenity center was nice, but way too small to accommodate the amount of people staying the complex, including the hot tub. We felt a little misled by the listing.

Andrew, thank you for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:
"Dear Andrew, I appreciate your positive and negative comments as they help to improve the property. In response to your comments, we have replaced the twin mattresses. The bed in the master is a “sleep by number bed” and can be “pumped up” to the proper level of comfort for you. There are now instructions on how to properly use the bed on the side table.
I apologize for the behavior of my neighbor. I wish you had called me as I would have addressed the situation immediately. I am taking steps with the property manager to address the matter. Property damage is completely unnecessary.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have further concerns regarding the situation with my neighbor. I strive to make my property a happy home for all that stay there.
Bless you, Barb"
Thank you again for your feedback! Best, the Evolve Team

Everything you need and then some. Perfect location for river, mountains, restaurants and shops. I couldn't recommend this place more! When I go back to Winter Park, this is where I will stay every time.

Nice place, great location and actually a "home" instead of a sterile rental only.

Great spot, great weekend!

The condo was very nice with comfortable beds, furniture and was fully stocked. My only complaint was the three floors of stairs everyday. After a full day of skiing, I had underestimated how much grief this would be.

Place was pretty nice. A little dated on the inside but still comfortable. Rec center was really nice and you can't beat the location and comfort for the price. Would give it 5 stars but couldn't get the grill to work.

Very clean and adequate space for the three of us. Only negative was the wifi did not work.

Very roomy condo. Super clean and has everything you need in the kitchen. You are steps away from the free shuttle, grab your ski gear and hop on. It is about a 20 minute ride due to all the stops it makes. Great proximity to all the restaurants in town, like a two minute drive. This is on the third floor with no elevator so you need to be able to carry your luggage up the stairs. I would recommend a new bed in the master bedroom. The existing mattress is two twins placed together. They both have this weird "firmer/softer" remote where you can add or remove air. We slept on it just fine but a normal bed would be a nice touch. I would stay here again, very nice unit. The owner is very nice and responsive. Bring your own soap and shampoo, there is none of that on site. You will get exactly one towel per guest. If your daughter likes one towel on the head and another around the body like mine does bring your own. Kitchen has lots of spices, flour, etc in the cupboards. There is a normal coffee maker as well as a Kuerig in the kitchen too. There are some k-cups for you which is nice.

Great place to stay. 5 minutes from WP ski resort. Everything we needed was in this unit. Shuttle bus stops directly across parking lot.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful cozy condo! It was well equipped with everything we needed and the owners and neighbors were all so kind and helpful as we prepared for our stay and were there. Our entire family had a wonderful time and were so grateful to be able to stay at this this little piece of heaven!

Two friends and I stayed here for a long weekend visiting Winter Park. The condo was quite comfortable with open floor plan in the living/dining/kitchen area. Comfortable seating in the living room and seating for 6 around the dinner table. Great location is just a short drive to WP or in to town, gas station/convenience store and a few dining options are walking distance. The resort shuttle stops just across the street from the building if you don't feel like dealing with the hassle of resort parking. The building itself was quiet, so it would be good for couples, or families as well. I would definitely consider staying here again if I come back to Winter Park. *This review was originally posted on VRBO for a stay in Jan-16
We really enjoyed the two bedroom condo. One queen in a bedroom, two singles and a fold out double in the living room. The kitchen was very well equipped with most things you'll need or want, even including coffee and creamer. There was a comfortable living room/dining room area with seating in the living room for about five people, and the apartment was convenient to the mountain (shuttle in the parking lot behind us), and restaurants. There is a pass to the rec center about a mile up the road - we didn't use it but would have if we'd stayed longer. The apartment is on the third floor so if anyone in the party has difficulty with stairs this would not be the place for you. There are three TVs - one in each bedroom and one in the living room. There is a fireplace for which you would have to supply wood (and move the TV).

The condo was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay in the mountains. We had one minor issue that I had to call Barbara about and she was super helpful and everything was resolved promptly. We'll definitely stay here again!
Wen had a great stay and would highly recommend this property. No surprises everything as advertised.
The unit was clean and as promised. We received procedures well in advance and had no trouble gaining access. There was ample parking and all went well. Huge TV (and smaller ones in each bedroom), well stocked kitchen and overall a great unit!

My parents brought their 6 children to Hi Country Haus 40 years ago, bought a unit and skiing became part of our lives. My brother owned one later and we still come here to enjoy the snow together. We had chili nite here in your condo. They all thought it was the best unit they have ever seen. We enjoyed the beefy towels and the hi quality linen. Hope to hang onto your phone number and email address!

Thank you, Barbara, for the use of your lovely condo! All the small extra supplies (like toothpicks) covered every need. We were so comfortable and enjoyed a wonderful ski week.
Tip - Hernando's pizza is the place to go. AWESOME pizza and a warm fire to sit by and in walking distance!
We look forward to our next time up here.

Loved the condo and the area - very pretty! The neighbors- both human and 4 legged - were great, especially Debbie. We enjoyed it and will likely return.

Thanks for the exceptional long weekend! The condo was lovely, and the setting by the river, and the wonderful neighbors - Marty and Debbie, May Ann - made for an enjoyable and peaceful time.
We hope to return next year - Thank you!

Everything was just as described, we had no issues getting in, and it was in a great location for exploring Winter Park resort as well as Rocky Mountain National Park.

We just had a great stay in Winter Park!
Awesome parts of this cabin: Looks like living room and kitchen recently got an upgrade. Nice fireplace (check for wood though, we ran out). Comfortably sleeps 6. 10 minutes from the door to the ski hill via the shuttle. Super quick! Walking distance to fun bars/restaurants in Winter Park.
Some things to keep in mind: Bring along any spices and condiments as the kitchen didn't have quite as much supplies as other places I've stayed. Probably best for a family/early risers as neighbors are very sensitive to noise after 9pm.
I've stayed in other Hi Country Haus condos, and this was the nicest yet. Beefy towels, high quality bed linens, nice d̩cor, good utensils and pans in the kitchen. Thoughtful owners to leave coffee filters and spices so that we did not have to buy them. Cooked in every night.

Our kids had a wonderful couple of days in Winter Park! We love the location, as you can walk to everything in town and bus is easy to catch to ski area. The condo is well appointed, nicely remodled and comfortable. It is on the end top floor which we love because it is quiet with a pretty view of the river out front. The owner left me a personal note after our stay which was super nice! It's the best value for your money in the area, as the unit shows pride of ownership. Thanks for a nice, relaxing stay!
