Villa very comfortable. Weve been coming for a number of years and it always feels like home. Beautiful views, easy to get to beaches and restaurants. The staff of Kenroy and Pindy are always a joy to see. Looking forward to returning to our Caribbean playground. John,Peggy, Ruthanne and Tom.

What a fantastic villa. We loved our stay in the West End. Great living space with the most amazing views of the ocean. The plunge pool was an added bonus. Thanks Bruce.

This home is absolutely beautiful and we appreciate the amenities they offered to help our stay be more comfortable. The view is magnificent! Definitely, recommend renting a 4X4 vehicle for the steep mountain climb and sharp curves. The magnificent view waiting for us was well worth the booking and Jeep rental. We all enjoyed our stay and hope to be back some day.

A fantastic spot. Getting in and out isn't for the faint of heart as it's atop a mountain with a steep driveway, but it's well worth the journey. Lots of space and a great kitchen with plenty of pots and pans. Make the adventure!

The Tortola Adventure is well named, when you consider the road that you must drive to take you there. This 4 bedroom house is best suited for couples, and less so for families. The pool is small, but great for hanging out in. It is great value if you are considering a vacation in the BVI with friends.

We had a fabulous time in the BVI which was due in large part to the location of the villa, its large, family-friendly space and the spectacular view - watching the sun rise and set over the ocean (with a chilled glass of ros?©!) was something very special. We appreciated the speed with which a very minor niggle was resolved and we felt there would always be help on hand if we needed it. We will definitely come back one day! Many thanks indeed!

The views are unbeatable! We loved this property. The floor plan is really unique and "fits" into the hill. The driveway is lots of fun! The decor and feel of the home is just perfect. We would have loved it only more if a bedroom (or two) had A/C. But all other times the trade winds are quite sufficient. The kitchen was well stocked. Sylvia greeted us and made us feel at home and showed us around/explained how everything worked and promptly helped me out with a request later in the week. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

We had a lovely time at the villa. A little bit off the beaten path, but that is what we like. Amazing 160 degree view of the ocean and islands. Well appointed. Not fancy, but has what you need to enjoy your stay. The owner has island contacts that help you get settled. They went out of their way to be sure we were happy.

We were 3 couples that stayed for a week at the Tortola Adventure Villa. We love the island and all the easy access to other neighboring islands. The view from the house is stunning and the breeze feels great that high up. The house had everything we needed to feel right at home. The driveway is not for the faint of heart but that's what makes it an adventure!Loved every moment of this vacation!

My family and I could not have been happier staying here. We loved the layout! It was so nice to be able to spread the family out so no one was ever woken up in the morning by the early risers. It was also nice because you could close off parts of the house and enjoy alone time. The kitchen was very well stocked with most things you would have at home, so staying in and cooking a meal was a breeze! There were a lot of glassware & dishes, the pots and pans were great and there were even nice sharp knives too. The pictures don't do the porch justice, not only is the view 100 times more incredible... but you're able to open up all the doors and enjoy the view from inside! The kids enjoyed the pool and outside showers almost as much as the beach. The driveway was well maintained and easy to get up with 4WD and extra parking space made turning around at the top easy. Sylvia met us at the house to show us around and was readily available to answer any questions during our stay. She really made sure we felt at home here. We owe our vacations success largely to staying here!

Our 4th visit to Tortola adventure and each visit is better then the time before. Sylvia always has the house spotless and is a gracious hostess. Local restaurants have excellent food , our favorite is D'Coal Pot ( close to home). The last several years we have been getting lobster from Albert ( a local fisherman) down in Carrot Bay . This year it was a grand daddy- 8 3/4 lbs. The rainbows after a shower and views are beyond belief. As someone once said " you have to leave in order to come back" having said that we are booked for next year!

We had a awesome time spending 4 days of a family vacation on Tortola at this house. It was our first time to Tortola. The location was great since it was fairly quick access to many great beaches...Smugglers (for seclusion and snorkeling, and Nigels pop up beach bar), Long Bay (for some big waves), Cane Garden (for a busy beachside scene with plenty of on the beach bars and Callwells Rum distillery), and Brewers (also secluded and great snorkeling). And there are many great dining options nearby including d' Coalpot and Jeanes, and Bomba Shack to get drinks and Full Moon Party. West End is close for the ferry from/to the USVI, snorkel gear, shops, etc and we used Jerry's Car Rental which was simple and very friendly. When we weren't running around the island or taking a day trip to the Baths on Virgin Gorda, we were enjoying the incredible views and the pool at the house. Ging and Sylvia were both extremely helpful in getting us from the ferry to the grocery and the house, and going over all the odds and ends of the house and nearby festivities. *This review was originally posted on VRBO for a stay in Jul-16
My family and I booked this house for five days - during our stay the refrigerator broke and all of our groceries (which were quite pricey on an island) were spoiled. We had to accommodate being at the house to meet repair man and stay until he left nearly 5 hours later. During that time we emailed the owner and called the local contact and weren't really given any real solution or reimbursements. There were ants in one of the main bedrooms, IN the bed - no one had any food in this room the entire trip. On the last evening there the island lost power for 9 hours, though we knew that power was spotty in the island we did not realize the repercussions of the island losing power. It is a pretty miserable nights sleep with no fans due to no power, we opened our doors to try to get a breeze to make up for the lose of fans but then we gotten eaten up by mosquitos as there are no nets or screens on the doors. There is a net over the bed but they had holes in them which made them practically pointless. In the morning we woke up to take showers before our long travel home and found that since the power had been out all night the water pumps could not muster up the power to bring water to any of the shower, faucets or toilets therefore we could not really enjoy our last morning in the house and had to leave early to get some breakfast and try to sponge bathe ourselves elsewhere. Again emailing the owner to which he suggested we scoop water our of the pool and bring it up the flight of stairs to dump it in the toilet reserve on the back of the toilet in order to flush. Which was quite disappointing as we paid a decent amount of money to stay in the home for 5 days to have these types of hiccups happen. The house offers beautiful views and the pool is a nice bonus. The top level is perfect but the lower 2 levels and what is considered the 'master' were pretty short of our expectations. The driveway is no joke, we rented 2 four wheel drive cars, one of which we returned after the first day because we could barely make it up the driveway with one person in the car. The rest of the time in the larger SUV was a struggle to make it up.

We are sorry to hear that these issues occurred during your stay, but some of these issues, though all unfortunate, can be part of life on the islands. The owner and his team on the island were available and responsive to help as they could, and as soon as the owner was notified that the fridge was malfunctioning, he took action to see if it could be repaired right away. Machines do unexpectedly break down, and as the necessary part was not available on the island, the fridge could not be fixed during your stay. To make it right the owner did issue you a refund for your groceries, and to protect future guests has decided to replace the fridge entirely, so that there is little chance of a repeat breakdown in the near future. The property is regularly sprayed for ants, and the owner has scheduled an additional special treatment in light of your feedback. However the property is perched high in the naturally lush hillside, and if any food is left out whatsoever in the tropics the ants will find it. Power outages are also an occasional part of life on the islands. They hit unexpectedly and affect all properties equally. There is a strong recommendation not to sleep with the doors open (the louvered windows have screens and can be left open) included in your pre-stay welcome email, but nonetheless we are of course sorry to hear that an outage coincided with the last night of your stay and caused this disruption and discomfort. We're sorry with these hiccups your stay wasn't everything it could have been, and wish you better luck in your future travels! ~The Evolve Team
The views and pool were unbelievable.the house was perfect for us and our friends after a week of sailing the BVI's. We enjoyed the relaxing stay. The only thing that surprised us was no air conditioning. The listing said "natural air conditioning" which we misread to think that there was A/C. We opened the doors and the Bree's was fine and refreshing for most of the time. We just prefer A/C, but the views and the pool more than made up for it. We loved Smuggler's Cove and exploring Tortola. Definitely recommend this place.

Feb. 2016 was our 3rd stay at Tortola Adventure. We feel so at home here, perfect for our needs. As month long visitors, we spend a lot of time at the villa enjoying the pool and also the marvelous views on the large porch overlooking Apple Bay with it's surfers and Jost Van Dyke. We frequently cook at the villa using the well equipped kitchen & BBQ, taking advantage of local fish & lobster. Bedrooms are comfortable and very private. Our hostess, Sylvia goes out of her way to make our stay awesome. The villa is conveniently located on the West End. We love our nearby visits to Sopers Hole, Smugglers beach, Sebastian's, Tropical Fusion & Sugar Mill restaurants. All in all Tortola Adventure is the perfect place for us to unwind from busy lives at home, we do look forward each year to our next visit?????. Tom, Rudy, Peggy& John

Tortola was een leuke eiland voor snorkelen, en vooral voor water sport. We hadden echt leuk. Het huis heeft een mooie uitzicht en we konden lekker relaxen na een dag op de strand. In het huis kon je van alles vinden en was echt schoon toen we arriveren. En the most important very nice people! Thanks Silvia!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was everything advertised and a bit more. The kitchen had everything to easily prepare our meals, the porch afforded views that were much better than the pictures on the website. Looking over the edge of the swimming pool out over Apple Bay was very nice. The rooms are not air conditioned but the fans kept us tolerably cool at night. The constant trade winds while we were there kept us almost completely bug free for the week, though some of that may have been due to the extended drought that the island is experiencing. There was loud music from the beach a couple of nights. Some of our party slept through it, some did not. Sylvia, the local contact, was very helpful. We did get the recommended 4 wheel drive car and it did make getting up and down the driveway much more pleasant than just having 2 wheel drive would have been. The home itself is not handicap accessible. The only improvement I would ask for is screens for the doors. But, that might not be practical as the trade winds may at times be to strong for screen doors.

This was the first time we encountered some disappointing surprises booking through VRBO. Will say first of all that Evolve Vacations was great at responding to my initial inquiry and made the booking process a breeze. Also, the owner of the villa was very pleasant and responsive. If you were to rate the villa exclusively for its spectacular view of the rolling hills and the ocean below and it's private location still within reach to some very good dining and great beaches, the rating would go off the charts. The pictures on the VRBO website accurately depict the view you will most definitely enjoy. What it does not mention or show however is that the 2 main bedrooms are quite removed from that view. More specifically, they are located below the main living area and do not afford either the view or the comfort that we anticipated. Aside from feeling dark and isolating, one of the bedrooms had a wall of doors that could be fully opened for fresh air and the tropical breeze. Sounds great in theory, but since there are no screens on the doors, you are at the mercy of the hungry mosquitos (the mosquito net was inadequate) & we felt a little vulnerable/not secure leaving doors wide open sleeping on the ground level. The other bedroom (located even further below the house), did have screens on the windows, however the windows were small so there really is no view). The other 'annoyance' with this 2nd bedroom was its' 'non-suite'- bathroom(!) located on the other side of the stairwell. Didn't much enjoy having to 'hike' outside and across the hall in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We accepted the rather odd layout and 'closed in'/dark and rustic vibe of the bedrooms but were quite disappointed as we were really looking forward to a higher standard of comfort that we had anticipated. The main living area of the villa was well equipped with necessities and was clean. Wi-Fi was perfect. Would describe the d̩cor as comfortable leaning to rustic - much like a cottage. Would have helped if the oven and the BBQ was working properly. Also, the exterior of the property overall appeared a little neglected & needs some TLC ( 'sticky' door hinges, stairwells looks dingy/dirty, broken outdoor patio tiles, the pool lounge chairs on arrival were scattered randomly....small but important 'improvements' that this beautiful property deserves! Enjoyable stay overall, but hopefully this review is both helpful and constructive.
This review was posted on VRBO.com for a stay in December 2014.
As property managers we enjoy all feedback and wish to note some good changes that have come from all the great comments of our guests. Without sounding defensive, we wanted to responsibly comment on a few items and let history judge the rest. The pictures are very accurate on the websites, and the human eye always has a better feel for views... The two main bedrooms are classic West Indian style away from the main living rooms for quiet and harmony, the distance is one stairway and two stairways respectively, and unmistakably part of the same structure and home. Each bedroom has a view, just the precursor view of the eye-filling ones of above, but lower in the 'bush' as the locals refer to it. The bedrooms are comfortably appointed with baths near or ensuite and people report sleeping like babies on a regular basis. The forest views are particularly enjoyable and the long distance views are only steps away. No bedroom is designed to be totally open when sleeping as winds and mosquitoes are unpredictable and we never recommend that for our people just as normal precautions. The 2nd bedroom, in 2015, now has a specific and large gate that walls it safely over to its across-the-breezeway 'non-suite' bathroom. As they say one mans ceiling is another mans floor, all rooms are secure and fanned and windowed with louvers and screens to keep any hot Texan cool...! The house design is very cottage like, with a few differences such as earthquake and hurricane resistant reinforced concrete throughout. The oven says 'preheat' all the time, but will make your casserole as fast as any at home as the oven is a Home Depot modern model. The BBQ is new in 2015, but these things corrode quickly in paradise. The exterior has received a makeover via a new coat of paint and you will not see dingy or dirty for now. The only broken patio tiles are half dozen ones which surround an immovable drain pipe that must remain that way for service by the plumbers but is barely an issue. We take no issue with the commentary of our guests and need all feedback to make sure the living soul of the property fulfill everyone's wishes and dreams. Thank you all for being part of our Tortola Adventure!
The trip to Tortola was in the off-season. Our first impression of Tortola, was similar to that of St. John... that locals were much more friendly on this island than on St. Thomas. The adventure started with the steep driveway... Man do they like their steep roads and driveways on Tortola. The island was a bit slow in the off season, and many places were closed, but the places that were open were great. The initial impression of the Tortola Adventure condo was that it was a little more rustic than displayed in the photos. But by the conclusion of the stay, the location became a very comfortable base of operations and we settled in nicely. The views are amazing and sleeping with the doors open was awesome. Thankful for the mosquito nets, because the buggers were out with a vengeance after the rains. The WiFi access was crucial in planning out our days, although cable and dsl connection on the island is spotty and inconsistent. Hopefully Tortola will improve its information backbone in the days to come... We had a great time and great weather in Tortola, it only rained once at night during the 4 day stay (during the hurricane season) while we were there. We drove all around the island from West End to Trellis Bay. Got out into the water to SUP at Cane Garden Bay, rented a great 24' boat from Mark and Katrin at Island Time Powerboats and visited the Baths at Virgin Gorda, snorkeled Ginger Island, Cooper Island, the Indians, the Bight and the Caves at Norman Island with the help of Captain Lou. Great meals at Long Bay Beach Club (Long Bay), Myett's (Cane Garden Bay), Sharky's (Royal BVI Yacht Club), Captain Mulligan's (Nanny Cay), Watering Hole (Road Town) and Brandywine Estate Restaurant (Brandywine Bay). Enjoyed the drinks at Peg Legs (Nanny Cay), Myett's (Cane Garden Bay), Brandywine (East Road Town) and a stop off at Stoutt's Look Out for a Look Out Punch a must. Captain Mulligan's a great place to catch a meal, drink and watch some sport. Dove off the Willy T at the Bight, enjoyed a few Painkillers at the Soggy Dollar Bar, and even visited Foxy for a serenade on Jost Van Dyke. We fit a lot in on our 4 day stay in Tortola and coming back to enjoy the view from the infinity splash pool was always a plus.... All in all we enjoyed our Tortola Adventure and the location was a great base of operations. The Virgin Islands are a water sport adventurers play ground. Great people, great views, great beaches, great water and great fun.....!

Definitely felt the Caribbean breeze in this hilltop apartment in Tortola. It's open and bright. The view of the ocean was invigorating. Their infinity pool lived up its name. The apartment was well- kept and it was really a home away from home!

Beautiful property with a convenient location on this end of the island. Don't let the other reviews about "loud music" deter you... it's wonderful to sit on the deck and listen to the relaxing music drift up from the beach-bars below. The particular home has a unique set-up that is perfect for three couples, each level-bedroom is complete with it's own full bath. Both the owner and property manager are very involved in making sure a good time is had by all.

We spent 5 nights in the British Virgin Islands whilst we were on our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time staying at Tortola adventure. The villa is positioned on Little Zion Hill and the first time you zoom up the hill you wonder where you are going, but wow when you get to the top it is most certainly worth it. The villa is lovely and clean and filled with everything you can ever need! We want the owner to come and organise our home for us, he has thought of everything you could possibly ever need! Both the owner and the housekeeper checked up on us during our stay to make sure we were okay which was a nice thought. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and miss sitting on the balcony with a cold beer watching the sunset whilst listening being educated on 'proper' music by my husband (he loved all your CD's). Some highlights: Jost Van Dyke - Soggy Dollar Bar, Virgin Gorda Baths - wow beautiful! Amazing food at Banankeet Cafe, Sugarmill restaurant and a great lunch at Roti Palace in Road Town if you want to sample some traditional cuisine. We'll be back soon if you'll have us. Thank you for an amazing few days!

We could only spend two nights here, but we loved every minute of it. The views are amazing (especially at sunset), the location was great (beautiful beaches, good surfing, good restaurants nearby). The pool was awesome and if you want a great workout, just run up and down Zion hill a few times. When the owner suggests getting a four wheel drive vehicle, believe him. People travel to Disney World to experience rides half as exciting as the steep drive up to the house. I especially loved the owner's CD collection. It was a good opportunity to show the kids what real 70-80's music was like - I mean who doesn't love Van Morrison, The Talking Heads, etc. Thank you for Two days/nights in heaven! If we ever get to the island again we will certainly stay here if it's available.

The villa was everything we hoped for and more. So hard when you pick a place sight unseen but this worked perfectly. Great location, spectacular views! Felt like home. Close to Sebastians, Sugar Mill, Bannakeet, ( although we had our own beautiful sunsets over St. Thomas), Long Bay, Sopers, Smugglers. Convenient for day sails and visits to other islands. We rented a car to travel the island. Cooked often in the more than adequate kitchen - equipted for any meal preparation. Although the owner was away, he checked on us often by phone and e-mail. Sylvia, our housekeeper took great care of us right down to coordination of the Caribbean colored towels and bedding. Beautiful, comfortable home. Very quiet and private. The pool was a nice asset. Wonderful, long upper level porch ran the entire length of the front of the house. Grounds were well maintained with a wide variety of tropical plants. We've already booked for next year!

We stayed at this AMAZING villa back in 2011 with 3 other couples from New Jersey and this review is long overdue! This was absolute paradise in every which way! The amenities are plentiful, the views are breathtaking and the privacy is to die for! We rented a 4x4 and drove the entire island while we were there which I highly recommend! We also chartered the Kuralu for a day sail/island hopping adventure. Make sure to moore up at Willies for a drink or two! I have never met the owners but I heard they were from the Jersey shore and our neighbors but we cannot wait to go back again! This villa sits atop Spy Glass hill which is a beautiful area of Tortola. Don't miss the full moon parties at the bomba shack! Thanks to the owners for keeping such a wonderful place in paradise!

We seem to go to Tortola every other year, October 2012 was our last visit. It is a paradise away from home. Bruce is a wonderful owner and makes sure that everything that one needs is stocked and in working order. Each time, we go we see a little more of the island and the surrounding islands, but love the option to just stay and relax at the house. Can't wait until this year's trip in October!

We just returned from our 1 week stay at Tortola Adventure and had a very pleasant experience. The house is ideally located, hillside right above Apple Bay, and is a classic beach house: casual and comfortable, not luxurious, with cute beach themed decor. The house is in good shape with a nice open layout on the main floor that opens up to that amazing deck and view. We arrived to fresh linens, clean bathrooms, a clean kitchen and living area. Great long dining table to spread out. We didn't cook, but the kitchen is equipped with the basics (utensils/dishes, pots/pans, range, microwave, etc) and there is a grill on the deck. Be sure to get a 4WD. The driveway is steep but manageable and you are well rewarded with amazing one of a kind views. The views, the overall good condition of the house, and the location make this is a great value compared to similarly priced options elsewhere on the island. You can't beat waking up to the view and drive to Smuggler's Cove within 3 minutes from your own private villa. Due to the hillside location, winds can get loud and music from the beach bars carries, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper like me. Management is excellent, accessible and helpful with local suggestions. Perks like the provided cell phone, a landline for local calls, in-house washer/dryer, consistent wifi, and tons of beach towels were nice touches. Would suggest this rental for easy going couples, friends, and families with older children.
