Only wish is that the backyard had a fenced in area for the dogs. Not a negative on house as we knew this going in and are fine with it, but it will prevent us from staying there again so more a suggestion. 5 stars for sure. Was better than expexted.

This is a darling, well-located home. But its most outstanding features are in all the extrs! It one of the best equipped and comfortably furnished vacation homes Ive ever visited. The hosts are also very thorough and accommodating. The only negatives are peculiar to methe queen bed is soft (but the twins are perfect) and, if you have any scent sensitivities, ask the owners to unplug the aromatics before arriving. We did a long weekend w the family and really enjoyed the house. It has a great, screened in porch and was plenty of room for our family of the dog. It?s fully furnished: towels, sheets, blankets, extra pillows, a stocked kitchen, etc. It does face a busy street, so plan on spending more outside time in the back than the front if you have kids running around. It?s a easy walk to the downtown square and about a 10 minute drive from Fossil Rim (which we did twice!) and the Diansour Park. Our only negative was the soft master bed, which is personal preference. We would come again! Also, the owners were great and very responsive, they even let us check in early. Thank you!!

The owners were very generous in their supplies of towels, dishes, cookware, bedding and even SNACKS! From the state of Washington to London and many stays in between this gem in Glen Rose provided the best stay ever in our rental experience. It was everything they said only better once you arrive and unwind. We really appreciated the organized guide to the property and Glen Rose, the great open layout, and complete kitchen. Every comfort was provided. Great beds, plenty of pillows, extra towels, games, and great reliable technology to feel connected when you need to check in. The deck was perfect for morning coffee or evening drinks and screened in for outdoor dining. The location was great for exploring Glen Rose and dinosaur attractions. The town was fun and friendly. Walking to town on Grace Street we enjoyed the Historic District. So convenient to walk the river in the Heritage Park and stop at Big Rocks Park. Also loved our trip down the road to Hico and a visit to Wiseman Chocolates. Of course dinosaurs rule and we waded in the river to get the best look at those ancient footprints. We can?t thank you enough for sharing this great property. It is suited to all ages.

We had so much fun on our long weekend trip to Glen Rose. The house was just perfect for our family of four and two dogs. Even though we booked last minute, everything was clean and ready for our visit! And the snacks and sodas that were provided were such a treat, our kids loved them!!!! We loved playing all of the games on the table, and when we were there that's what we spent most of our time doing. But there was so much to do, we spent a lot of time out and about. We went down to Big Rocks and climbed on the rocks and waded in the water. And we went horseback riding with Eagle Eye Ranch at Dinosaur Valley State Park. We had our fair share of yummy food! We ate at Hammonds BBQ, Loco Coyote and La Vita in the square. All of them were great! We also got ice cream and shakes at Shoo-Fly, and pie at Pie Peddlers, both on the square. We spent one afternoon in Granbury on the town square and had so much fun! Cute shops and you can carry a beverage around while you shop! We also went out to Revolver Brewery and enjoyed the tour and live music! It was really a perfect trip and we can't wait to come back, and would stay here again! Thanks for everything!

It had rained and was a bit muddy... would have felt safer in getting kids in and out of the van if we'd have a driveway. Still, it was a wonderful 5-star experience.

The owner has thought of everything: snacks on the counter to take on outings, easy lunch meals in the cupboard, coffee/creamer, spices and butter for cooking dinner. With the ages of our kids, we intended to eat most meals at the house and the amenities made that goal easy. As for other aspects of the house, the owner has taken no shortcuts/cheap routes: everything is high end (super comfortable bed, I'm guessing a tempurpedic), quality furniture, Smart TV/blu ray player/DVDs for kids and adults alike, toiletry essentials a traveler may forget, laundry essentials, and a pack N play for babies. The water pressure in the house is also fantastic. Best of all, the house is within 4-5 miles of all the major attractions. Easy, relaxing trip - We had a great time! Thank you!!

This is the perfect house for a weekend stay or longer. Everything is beautifully detailed, and the guests are made to feel special and welcomed. We would definitely stay there again. It is close to all area attractions in and around Glen Rose. Nelson provided great information and was a very considerate host.

Nicely renovated and decorated. Convenient to downtown and walking distance to shops and good food. We had fun with many of the table games and enjoyed the snacks that were well stocked. The river and park were also within walking distance. The screened-in porch was wonderful and very relaxing.

Nelson, you and CJ are definitely in the right business because there was nothing we needed that you didn't already think of. You have paid so much attention to detail, it was almost like I never left home. Scott and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary and get out of dodge and this was just perfect for us! We will definitely be back and I intend to tell everyone about our experience here. Again, thank you for making our anniversary weekend a wonderful experience. You two are the best and the King and Queen of hospitality and Southern comfort! Lisa and Scott

    Fantastic Getaway!

Three of my best friends and I take an annual trip each year and this year we found ourselves in Glen Rose after finding this house on-line. The house is exactly as described...very nice decor, very clean and tidy, comfy beds and luxurious linens, big screen tv, lovely screened in porch and I could go on and on. Nothing even gently used in this home; everything like new! We thoroughly enjoyed our moring coffee on the porch listening to the gently falling rain. These homeowners are on the ball! Air conditioning and lights on when we arrived and so many goodies and drinks waiting for us along with lots of extras such as makeup mirrors, coffee creamers, toiletries! Had a little problem locking the door (user-error) but a quick call to owner quickly resolved issue; he is very friendly and immediately likeable just by talking over the phone. We look forward to meeting him one day! I might suggest a lamp on the dresser in each of the bedrooms would be even more helpful for us ladies to put our makeup on! We will definitely be back and definitely recommend to others! Loved the Loco Coyote and Hollywood and Vine; definite must-sees!

What a wonderful experience. This was my first time renting a vacation home on the Internet. My week of vacation was full of relaxation and fun. Everyone was so laid back. I got a massage @ His and Hers Salon. The ribs at Loco Coyote were the best ribs I have ever tasted. Glen rose is a small town has alot of hidden treasures. This home away from home is very clean and has everything you could possibly think of. It is so beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. A friend of mine and my sister came for Labor Day weekend. They also thoroughly enjoyed the house. My sister was blown away on how soft the towels are. But of course, the best part was the fact that you can bring your most beloved part of the family. Kylie, my terrier, really enjoyed the screened in porch, listening to all the sounds of the outside world. Thank you so much Nelson for being the perfect host and such a delight to speak to. For anyone reading these reviews, I highly recommend this place and you will not be disappointed.

We initially booked this house as an anniversary trip, but ended up bringing our two boys, ages 6 and 3, along. I wouldn't have had it any other way. We all loved the house. It is a wonderful place to stay, very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the snacks, games, and most of all the screened porch. The house is stocked with everything you need, and is extremely clean and well maintained (a big plus!!). We took the owner's advice and ate dinner at Hammond's it was yummy!!! It is a short walk downtown which we did on Sat morning and enjoyed looking in all the shops then spent the rest of the afternoon in the river up the road. We would definitely return and would recommend to others.

Thanks so much for everything, we can't wait to visit again!

    Amazing Stay!!!

We absolutely loved staying at your house! Some of our favorite parts were the decorations, the fact that it was dog friendly, the considerate things left there for us (i.e. snacks, drinks, toiletries, dog bowls). The sheets and towels were soft, the porch was awesome and the shower had great water pressure. The packet sent to us beforehand with instructions / places to go was very thoughtful. It was easy to lock / unlock the door with our own entry code instead of having to keep track of a key. In Glen Rose we were at the Rough Creek Lodge (that is where the wedding was) for most of the weekend for all of the wedding festivities. In previous day trips to Glen Rose (we are in Grand Prairie so itду»s only ~50 minutes away) our favorite BBQ place is the Loco Coyote and we have enjoyed Fossil Rim and Dinosaur World with the kids. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house!

Adorable Modern Bungalow in Glen Rose

My husband and I went to Glen Rose for a long weekend over Spring Break with our two children. We had a fantastic trip, and we will definitely come again and stay at this adorable bungalow. If you havenду»t visited Glen Rose, it is a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway just and hour and half out of Dallas. The downtown area is a short walk from the house, and it is full of quaint little antique shops and restaurants. My kids loved the art-making studio we stumbled upon, where our kids spent hours making crafts. We also loved the burgers at the Green Pickle, and the wonderful outdoor sandbox for kids with live music and dancing on the weekends at the Hollywood Restaurant. Dinosaur Valley National Park is a favorite of our little budding geologist, with dinosaur footprints easily found in the river bed дус pack water shoes if you donду»t want to slip! Fossil Rim is also a must-visit, one of the best wildlife parks, and a favorite of our kids дус especially the petting zoo. For the price, I wasnду»t sure what to expect; so I was pleasantly surprised when we drove up to the Glen Rose cottage. From the outside is has rustic charm, but the inside is really stunning дус fully updated with a modern kitchen. The entire house felt brand-new and spotlessly clean. Our girl loved sharing a room with matching twin beds, and the screened in porch was wonderful. The property backs up to the river that feeds a wonderful natural splash ground that is found just a half mile down the road. Donду»t miss the little country snow cone stand next to the river adorable and yummy! The kids wanted an extra day to just hang out at the house. It was stocked with unique games and kid-friendly videos as well as basics like coffee and granola bars. We canду»t wait to go again!

This house is top notch! The decor is beautiful (granite countertops, beautiful colors, fixtures and fittings throughout). The host provides EVERYTHING you could imagine. Great selection of dvd's, snack foods and kitchen appliances. Wonderfully soft towels and extremely comfortable beds (better than mine at home!) I really did not expect a rental property to be outfitted like this. The back porch is huge and we spent much of our time out there. The river is right behind the property. The town can be walked to as well as Big Rock Park. Great value for the price! My girls begged me to rent it again for the summer!

our family of 4 loved this place. Glen Rose is quiet and very pretty! This property is very clean and so nice. The owner has fun traditional games, checkers, shut the box and a well equipped kitchen. It was cold so we did not get to use the great screened porch but it is great.

Very simply, great experience. great nice touches such as bottles of water, sodas, chips and snacks, toiletries (shaving cream, aloe vera, tootbrush, shampoo).

great, clean, cozy home. We would go again.

We cooked, enjoyed the kitchen area. Ideal for family get togethers.

One downfall is one bathroom, otherwise the two rooms gave us some nice space.

It was just perfect for us. We have 2 dogs and a 2 1/2 yr old, there were
Dog bowls and sippy cups. Screened in porch was safe too.
It was centrally located to the attractions so getting around was easy.
Only complaint is that Barnard is a pretty busy street, and at times
We felt a little close to the road.
